HoarfrostHubb
You ahve a station wired up now, Dave? sweet. 56/43 off a high of 64. Sadly, no... That one is about a mile from my house, and, having driven by it (creepy?) it seems similar in terms of trees, terrain, etc I still have a craptastic one from Walmart
HoarfrostHubb
That being said, my readings are usually within a degree of that one... Right now, they have 49.0F I have 48.6F

Brian5671
Besides the Jets sucking, it was a great day. Sunshine and a high of 75 with light winds, classic COC september weather. you're surprised?

CapturedNature
Temps are cooling off nicely..down to 49° here and 44° higher up. That's at least a degree or two cooler than previous cool nights so I might have a shot at the 30s by morning. We'll see. Coolest spot I saw was Island Pond, VT at 37°. I always liked that spot...it's a nice bowl. The CT Lakes aren't far behind.

You gotta be one of the warmest spots in New England if 53F was the lowest you got.
Baroclinic Zone
53.1 for the low..south winds already blowing pretty good. Amazing difference between your elevation and my sand pit. 38-39F for a low at TAN.

CapturedNature
53.1 for the low..south winds already blowing pretty good. 40° here, though my digital thermometer read 39.9° so my first "30s" of the season lol. It's interesting that you were only 53...my station in Union was 42°. You just have a tough time radiating on the hilltop. I saw some 20s way up north. Nice! HIPPYVALLEY
Fortunately tuesdays system is early enough in the season that it won't wipe out the foliage in one day. The leaves should still be hanging tough.
tamarack
Had to dig out the scraper this morning - solid frost on the windshield and temp about 31. Nothing out of the ordinary, as 9/17 is quite close to my avg for 1st frost. 60/37 with a breeze yesterday, just gorgeous. Colors at about 15% (very subjective, of course) in my area - sugar maples with yellowish tinge, the odd red maple in full blaze, even some with dry feet. Several of my white ash are 2/3 bare, could hear leaves rattling down Sat and yest, but the 60' ash near the toolshed still thinks it's July. Damage In Tolland
Even they got to 48. It was in the 40's below 800 feet. I ran down to as low as 700 feet this morning..and it was noticeably cooler. As soon as i would climb in elevation..up went the temps.
