Damage In Tolland
Looks on par to me, no? There was talk of widespread 30's I thought..Other than Hunchback who somehow radiates like he's in a desert even at 1100 feet..I didn;t see many reports of 30's. The airmass earlier last week was colder
Damage In Tolland
There was never a big cool down progged in these parts until maybe late month and even that isn't entirely impressive here. Heart of the cold is west, but we'll get a piece of it. Maybe a bigger piece breaks off and we get a sharp 1 or 2 day cooldown amid all this. Well we also weren't supposed to have high dews next weekend and it now looks like another southerly flow event days 7-9 ..Almost a repeat of Tuesday/Wednesday this week

It looks like a lot of onshore flow though and not terribly swampy until that front moves east. This is all because the heart of the cold is west. Doesn't really matter in September. Mr Torchey
58 sunny Another 5 star COC day on tap as endless summer rolls on, todays forecast sunny and 75, tomorrow, sunny and 77, then swamp and rinse repeat, no below normal stuff until at least the 24th as the yearly tradition of delayed and perhaps denied begins. Chilly October to open still on track as I have forecast for weeks now, big + departures this week with warm overnight lows.

HoarfrostHubb
Nothing here, gardens, trees, lawns mid summer mode. I would say things are still 95% green here on my property. Maybe behind last year. Some swampy areas are in high color around town. Still a few weeks until it really arrives. Gotta mow again today. Hopefully the Pats are up big early. Tropopause_Fold
Lots of 40s this morning....endless summer weather. Euro continues to keep front hung up along the coast giving eastern areas some good late week rains. Interesting look to that.

Pretty much same here, that's why I'm surprised to hear talk of a lot of color showing up S & E of here. Hit 39 here last night so you are not alone in the 30's club. My neighborhood radiates as well as anywhere.

Tropopause_Fold
Enjoy that. Not what you want thus time of year for fall and fall color I'd take rain over foliage so not too concerned about that. Euro might be overdoing it a bit anyway... CoastalWx
This September has featured some cooler night vs this time last year so far. Trees that I use a a benchmark are showing a little color vs this time last year. Whether it slows...i don't know. Torchtober 2011 really slowed it down. CoastalWx
High dews? I don't see that. Yeah I mean onshore flow might not being dews in the 40s but I don't see days of high dews.
Isotherm
The weather pattern over the next several weeks is really what matters for foliage. If we can continue to see these nights in the 30s/40s with dry air around, then N New England will rapidly approach peak in the first 10 days of October, with C New England not far behind. I've seen three nights in the 40s over the past 7 days here in NJ, which is more than the last 2 Septembers up to this point. If we transition into a very wet/warm regime for October, it will make for another dull/lackluster foliage year. I'm hoping for an October with cooler than normal temps and near normal precipitation. Since most of the I-95 corridor BOS SW experiences their peak Oct 20-30, the pattern Oct 1-20 is more important than right now (as it is for N/C New England).
