CT Rain
How well did that work last Sat when the water was 5-7 degrees warmer? Low topped supercells ripping across LI/NYC/CT. You get awfully moody every one or two months.

Wait you are saying a LLJ off the Atlantic where temps are in the low 70s for hundreds of miles will be influenced by a warm curl of water in tiny LI sound, are you serious? Moody? You guys are making up stuff about the water temps now and NYC is not SNE.

Moody? You guys are making up stuff about the water temps now and NYC is not SNE. Warm curl of water? Water temps dont really have anything to do with the LLJ. The issue is the advection of a marine layer from the sound inland. With water temps in the mid 70s it's a challenge to develop a strong stable layer so you're able to mix down winds much better than during spring. Getting mid 70s for dews with mid 70s water temps in the sound is the issue. Take your voodoo meteorology to a SOS thread.

I know what you were talking about. I questioned your mid 70s statement, look at the graph. Yeah there's only a short window for SNE where SSTs aren't a real factor with these sourherly LLJ cases.

Were you the one who posted how after August we do not get severe around here? should be ripping at the coast but its still pretty far away. I envision tons of posts about it, SPC mod risk, Wiz creaming his jeans, Mets discussing what could happen, an isolated F0 then everyone bitchin about what a Phail it was, Mets saying they told us so, same ole same ole around here .
