Not sure. I was trapped in my stinky sweaty dungeon until 3PM

I am so glad I get Mon and Tues off for Rosh Hashannah. That's one advantage to being a schoolteacher in NYC, Jewish holidays.

Do you get three days off in the next two weeks? Do you have a fancy Smartboard and iMac?

How did you only manage 74.6F? Even AFN hit 81F. Peru had 74F at 1900'.

ORH hit 78F...so I guess I could see the davis in the grass with a little extra elevation being 75F.

Funny you point out AFN...I'm not sure if you noticed, but they have had a step change recently in their temps...much much warmer than they used to report. They are consistently coming in like 3F warmer than ORH on max temps in a homogeneous atmosphere and that hardly ever used to happen. Either their ASOS is going out of whack or something was altered at/near the site.

Yeah...over the past few months there were a few times where I glanced at regional temps and AFN seemed strangely warm. Looks like the step was around Feb/Mar this year?

lol...same thing happened at BDL about 20 years ago. The ASOS site was shifted and suddenly they didn't cool off as much and some of their maxes were higher too.

79.7°F here for the max.

I've never heard of a Promethean board....it looks similar to SMART technology, however. I really like mine, we did a math game with exponents where they had to choose the right answers to deflect alien bombs that were being aimed at the Earth. The kids loved it! I also do a lot of slideshows and video clips from my Mac that I was given for school.

I've rarely had two days off for Rosh Hashannah and another day for Yom Kippur. This is a great treat. We do most of our PDs afterschool and doing the summers, and we get paid $42/hour for attending them. We have a few that are integrated into the school calendar, but most are during off-hours and are for extra compensation. We've had some good ones lately....I was sent to a workshop of integrating robotics into the science curriculum, and I did another one where we worked on selecting texts for ELA to align to the Common Core learning standards. I am really liking this school so far.

Is MPV a good radiating spot? I don't follow them closely...but it would seem the radiating spots have done a bit cooler recently since we had some dry airmasses in here.

MPV is a good cool site for an ASOS...it's on an elevated bench at 1200ft that runs cool during the day AND tends to radiate.

We usually have lower mins here at MVL as we radiate nicely at 700-800ft between two large ridgelines of 3000-4000+...but our highs are always 3F (sometimes 5F) higher than MPV due to their higher elevation and I think we may see some compressional heating between the mountains...which is why I'm always talking about high diurnal spreads. We cool off at night moreso than other areas but on the flip side get hotter during the day, usually with lower dewpoints locally due to compressional heating drying the air.

Sept 18th will, for me, mark 5 straight months of only wearing shorts (yes, and often shirts), we'll see if sunday night / monday morning are cool enough to break the streak...

lol...sadly, I had to go back to wearing pants when school started.

Plus there was a funeral

See Scott below. Nothing more needed. :)

I had to run into downtown Greenfield at 2:00p.m. I got out of my car at the hospital there and the heat felt pretty strong. Was happy to get back into the hills.

KPIT is usally 5-7* cooler than greenfield on the highs, 3-4" cooler than Shelburne falls.

78 here but another local site in town was only 76

Foggy start to blame?

Nope--sun was out shining brightly at 7:30. Mist in the valley below.

First mention of frost in my forecast for 800ft in the valley... Sunday and Monday mornings look chilly. Zone forecast has mid-30s with patchy frost and so does the point 'n click.

Another step towards winter is seeing that "patchy frost" in the forecast, haha.

Congratulations!

Isnt' the siting on the grass legit? Don't want it on the driveway after all.

Warm night--56.4/55. Just had .05" pas through.
