The Dude
Can us Virginians borrow the license plate? Maybe "taxation without precipitation".
WVclimo
Rain has skirted by all weekend without any making it in here. Now at this late hour it has suddenly blossomed. Pulse-y is a great way to describe it. Pours for a few minutes, slacks off, then dumps again.
aldie 22
That stuff coming up from C ville looks interesting for overnight....maybe...this nice dump so far is at .84 here...I have to believe there is more to come over the next few days...maybe we can push that 2" number just yet
Ian
Can see the effects of earlier stabilization as those storms neared DC.
H2O
Dodged most of it on the way back. Now it has been raining nicely since I got home around 10. Amazing pics in DC and there was some flooding in Salisbury in certain spots.
Ian
NAM/SREF both look like tomorrow could have a lot of rain around. Regarding tornado threat.. tomorrow one issue might be that we get no sun.. tho it's kinda iffy everywhere. I suppose I could see a 2% launched somewhere in the area. TUE actually looks slightly better for now, particularly DC/Balt area compared to tomorrow.
Avdave
Home!!!! Just shy of an inch of rain here for the day (9/2). .94 in the bucket. Poured like crazy from IAD back to home tonight.
MDstorm
It's feast or famine. As of now, I'm in the famine zone---not one drop of rain in the last 24 hours. The next 24-48 hours looks to provide more generalized rains (I hope). MDstorm

WxUSAF
Zippo...but when you get under a shower, it's a downpour. Drove through one in Baltimore yesterday evening and there was ponding on I-95. Well...raining now at my house.

mattie g
0.13" on the month/event The 0.05" at DCA last evening is particularly entertaining. Wow...I'm a bit shocked, MN. We got close to 1.5" here. It was absolutely torrential for about ten minutes, then it let up, then torrential again about 20 minutes later. After that, it was light/moderate on and off for another hour or so. A lot of rain in a really short time.

mattie g
Yeah, I saw the stuff down by you. I never trust those slow moving blobs of precip that more ooze than translate. Really hoping that today is better. The trees are stressed and my backyard grass is already dead. My lawn was in the same shape until we got that random cell a couple weeks ago. We've gotten a couple inches of rain since then, so the dustiness has subsided. I was shocked to see how much rain we got last night. I was thinking maybe .75" at the most, but it's kind of hard to tell exactly how hard it's coming down when it's dark. Hope you get in on the act today.
