Logan11
Nice cool day at L'Étape, about 50 miles above Quebec City. 13:00 N/A 49 84 44 SSW 6 29.72 N/A But even up there the dews are in the 40's. I'll have to look upstream toward west QC and northern ON. Currently 64/45... feels fantastic. Need some dews in the 30s though. Not getting out of the mid 60s today in the valley and upper 40s at the summit.

Logan11
Even west QC and well into Ontario dews are in that 40-45 range generally, but there are some 30's in spots from Sudbury north.
Logan11
An unstable chilly airmass I suppose has led us to a mostly cloudy sky now after many hours of sun. Now 65F. Still ovc here. Fall in the air.
powderfreak
An unstable chilly airmass I suppose has led us to a mostly cloudy sky now after many hours of sun. Now 65F. Yeah it's quite different when the clouds roll in...feels that much colder. Sun comes out and the temp goes to 65-67F, but then clouds roll in for 15 minutes and it quickly drops to 62-63F. powderfreak
Monday night looks like the best chance for frost over the next 10 days at least...MOS products showing 35-37F here near MVL. Point and click has 36F and zone forecast has "upper 30s" so I think we'll fall short of frost except in some localized areas, like small hollows in the terrain. powderfreak
Love the last sentence in this snip from the BTV AFD. "Long term /Wednesday through Sunday/... as of 251 PM EDT Sunday...piggybacking off the short term forecast...most of the middle to late week time frame will remain dominated by deep layer late Summer ridging across the region with dry and warm weather expected. Just an outstanding stretch of weather for any outdoor activities"
Mr Torchey
Low of 65 (so far) high of 77 +2 on the day at BDR, will probably end up dead nuts average by midnight.

Tis the season for reporting highs only near 1000ft in Tolland and ORH. Never used BDL for MBY conditions ever. Just report them for official highs and lows in N CT. Everyone knows they are 5-8 degrees warmer than where most people in the state live..But for verification we have to use them

Yes exactly..because that is the offiicial N CT reporting station..I'd love to use my station or Metherb's or Chris M...Someone who lives in the country where most people reside..not in some hot city type valley locale ..but I can't

It'd be cool to compare obs with you as were basically at the same elevation in a rural setting.

Only if we are trying to verify ridiculous heat values?

You would know (if you have) it is about as far from a city as you can get in the CT River Valley.
HoarfrostHubb
Yeah, pretty foresty around there, besides the airport itself Someone told me you can see Monadnock from the hills around there. I thought no way
CT Rain
Yeah, pretty foresty around there, besides the airport itself Someone told me you can see Monadnock from the hills around there. I thought no way Yeah you can. it's pretty rural to the west of the airport and I think it's actually a pretty perfect spot for an ASOS station in the Valley. It's away from a lot of the sprawl and urbanization. Does it run several degrees warmer than the hills... of course it does! It's in the valley lol. Most people in the state live in the valley (or a valley for that matter) or on the shoreline. So Kevin's observations are the exception.

I thought no way You can see a really tall mountain from johnnycake mountain (1100'+) in Burlington out that way. Always wondered if it was manadnock but that seems way too far. You can see NoHo from Granby right near bdl but thats at like 1200'

CT Rain
LOL...WHAT???!! Look at the population for the towns that are generally low elevation lol. Hartford, West Hartford, East Hartford, Manchester, Vernon, Enfield, Bloomfield, Windsor, Suffield, Southington, Farmington, Berlin, Middletown, Rocky Hill, New Britain, Wethersfield, Cromwell etc etc etc.
ChrisM
LOL...WHAT???!! My town is 30 sq mi with 5k people. The hills are much much less densely populated. Id have to guess 75% of people in ct live under 400', many of them in the valley and shoreline like Ryan said.

There are very elevated portions of town near Charlotte Hungerford to the west or up on West Main St. The vast majority of people, however, live far lower near the river in the center of town lol.
