on_wx
Where'd all this rain come from? I believe we were only forecast maybe 0.08" today, but in the last hour we are up 0.65" it's still pouring.
Powerball
Been getting some pretty heavy downpours this morning with the t'storms. Another cell has developed overhead. It's pouring again.

hawkeye_wx
The humidity has made it about as uncomfortable as it has been all year. After only a minute or two outside I start sweating pretty good. Back in July when it was 100 I could stay out for 10 minutes without sweating because the dewpoint was so much lower. turtlehurricane
I hate this fooking hot weather, of course we go into the low 90s on the first day of classes so I get to run around and schvitz.
SpartyOn
The models are whacked out right now Indeed. Kinda funny watching the ECMWF dance around lately. Impressive progged 850s for next week though. +30c blasting into the western edges of the region. Indian summer stuff.
Geos
About 79/72 at this hour. Very muggy, but I really wouldn't call it hot.
hm8
Some light showers moved through this morning, pretty nice day now if not for the humidity.

WestMichigan
1.11" in West Michigan. GRR hinted at rain in the MKG - GRR corridor towards morning, but nothing like what actually came through. Nice to see since things were drying out a lot since our last rain.
hm8
Ended up with nearly an inch here at the airport with .76" coming in an hour. Huh, didn't know the heavy stuff made it that far south. IIRC further NW there where some decently impressive rain reports, I think 3" in 3 hours at one location.

cyclone77
Congrats to you guys out east that got all the rain. Hit 94 today with a decent amount of humidity. Heat index reached 102. Today makes #50 AOA 90.
on_wx
That same area of disturbed weather went through here as a surprise this AM. What was your forecast today? Last check on The Weather Network yesterday night it was only 1mm this morning and 1-3mm throughout the day with higher amounts in thunderstorms... I think. Didn't check EC's forecast. Ended up with 40mm, and some areas received as high as 85mm. Yeah, the models definitely played catchup on this one. I've had about 1.5" here. So there were very little, if any, indications there would be so much rain even after it started? Environment Canada didn't issue the heavy rain warning until 245pm which is five hours after the rain started here.
daddylonglegs
Cyclone- Wow...that is a lot of days above 90F... I think I'm at 34 days AOA 90F and I think that was horrible. If this is the new "normal" i'm moving to Duluth Today sucked other then the much needed rainfall (just over 2 inches since Aug 1st)... Days are getting awfully short. I have had to do a lot of nite biking because I'm not going early enough. Still would love to see a hard Sept freeze.

PWATS were high (~2.00") and the flow aloft is weak, so in localized thunderstorms I thought there'd be a good chance of some deluges. But the morphing of the thunderstorms into a big shield of widespread heavy rain seemed to come out of nowhere.

Chicago Storm
Topped out at 90 at ORD and 93 here today...both of which were the highs for each location yesterday too. RFD hit 96 for the 2nd day in a row, which makes it the first back-to-back days to feature a high temp of 95+ in Sept since 14-15th/1939 (101/102).
