I'd trust the airport's observation more personally. Their equipment is augmented regularly, not to say you might be cooler but I don't know about that much cooler compared to the airport.

I disagree. Temp errors at night with regard to being too cool is usually only a result of the sensor being too low to the ground. I would bet temp errors at night are considerably less prominent than daytime readings.

I see your point, but for there to be 5 degree difference from Geos to the Airport I think that is outside the realm of a normal error.

CR airport, yesterday morning, was mostly in the low 30s and briefly dipped to 29 near dawn. This time the temp was in the upper 20s for 3+ hours. The nws blew the forecast. I have ice in both of my bird baths and the frost is much more extensive this morning. I won't know until later what kind of plant damage I have. I definitely would have covered everything again if I knew it would be like this.

Eh. The switch flipped in Indiana after early August.

Bloomington, Eagle Creek, Fort Wayne, Goshen, IWX, Lafayette, Muncie, and South Bend were all below normal for August as well. Evansville was dead nuts even/normal, Indy a bit above normal.

OK OK, after March thru July, it is unbelievable what the temps in Indiana have done. When you started "the race for the hottest summer on record" thread I thought it was a complete lock.

Made it down to 34°. Plenty of frost on roofs and on the lawn this morning. Kenosha reached 32° last night. Rockford reached 31°, which was their earliest freeze in 17 years.

Even made it to the mid 30s at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. (35°)
