snowstormcanuck
Love than autumnal looking baroclinic zone. I know verbatim it's pretty toasty for a lot of us, but it's still a nice indication that the storminess of fall is just around the corner. daddylonglegs
Had thick cloud cover, but now were back in mostly sunshine. House is chilly for the first time this year...think it was 64F in here this morning... still haven't/won't turn on the furnace...plenty of mild weather ahead. Please no more very warm days in the 80s. I've seen enough of those this year.
Jonger
Yuck at that that pattern. Please no more very warm days in the 80s. I've seen enough of those this year. The GFS is quite a bit cooler for that same timeframe. I guess we will find out.

House is chilly for the first time this year...think it was 64F in here this morning... still haven't/won't turn on the furnace...plenty of mild weather ahead. I've had no choice but to turn on the furnace during the nighttime hours! The warm ground is doing nothing for the house temperature. I let it cool off to 60°, but then I gave in. Sitting at 56° at 2pm. Dewpoints are a good deal lower then yesterday afternoon.

Only managed 58F today..weird..it was actually chilly working out in the yard at times, even with full sun...the wind had a nip to it. No bike ride tonite. cyclone77
Made it to 62 today, but already starting to quickly slip downward. Dew is only 29, and with the ridge axis overhead we're gonna tank like crazy over the next few hours. EDIT: Love the way the cold air drainage valleys show up on high res models, like this 4km NAM. Shows 29 here.
trapperman
I beg and plead with you all to ignore the 18z GFS and a lot of the runs preceding it. it will break hearts from the plains to the east coast. Just move along...

wisconsinwx
Land o' Lakes already down to 36 at the 7:00 hour. Sure is the case that in some areas, the cooling will be rapid starting now.
A-L-E-K
doubt i drop below 45 during this stretch...first freeze still close to a month off nailed it Mostly clear, with a low around 46. Geos
Cooling off a lot faster tonight. Already 42° at 8:30. Dewpoint in the mid 30s. (Cooling off faster then the latest 4km NAM 18z run.) @ DLL - Yeah I think my house might cool off faster because of my basement - that makes sense. Edit: 40.0° at 9:45pm. Mid to upper 30s showing up over SE WI now.

The last night of a cold wave always seems to get underestimated by the NWS, especially when there's snow cover. Down to 36 already here. Looks like our first freeze later tonight. Stebo
Looks to be right at normal, before dropping below..... Lansing is at +0.7. Its going to come right down to the last day of the month again to find out if the month will be +/-. Same as August... We had a way above average day on the last day of August to screw the negative departure and end +0.3. Average by the end of the month is in the upper 60s/upper 40s. With a +0.6 departure as of yesterday still in place I think we will probably end up above normal still for the month as most of the next several days will be near normal with a couple (Tuesday/Wednesday) being above normal. Their equipment is augmented regularly, not to say you might be cooler but I don't know about that much cooler compared to the airport.

It tends to run a couple degrees too warm it seems at night.

Some mesonet sites in the northern part of the county in the mid 30s now. FWIW: my temperature sensor is at the standard height, 2m above the ground.
