Heh, if it has the same warm bias it had in the summer, we could be looking at a widespread killing frost :lmao:

in all seriousness though, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few 32* readings in C.MI. WI even more so.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it primarily sported a warm bias with the high temps, but not necessarily the low temps. I sure would love a killing frost, but I'm not convinced we'll see a frost in many areas in S Wisconsin.

Was said in jest, you may be correct.

Tomorrow night looks like really good for radiational cooling. Winds under 5mph, mostly clear all night. Roof top frost a good bet.

MKX's take on it:

TUESDAY NIGHT...FORECAST CONFIDENCE IS HIGH.

A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE SLIDES OVERHEAD WITH CLEARING OCCURRING

QUICKLY IN THE EARLY EVENING. GUIDANCE STILL SUGGESTS LOTS OF MID

TO UPPER 30S FOR LOWS...WARMER BY LAKE MICHIGAN. SOME FAVORED LOW

SPOTS COULD HIT THE LOW 30S...BUT THIS SHOULD BE RATHER ISOLATED.

HAVE CONTINUED THE MENTION OF PATCHY FROST. IT/S STILL PRETTY

EARLY IN THE SEASON AND SOIL TEMPS ARE QUITE WARM WHICH WILL HELP

TO LIMIT FROST POTENTIAL AT GROUND LEVEL.

That's pretty impressive for this time of year, Daddy.

I forgot to mention Sunday norning. This might be the next best chance for some real killers before Indian summer comes back:

With the cloud cover and isolated showers, looks likely we'll just fall short of 60F finally. Rhinelander 41/35F with light rain atm, almost winter like I'm sure to see that in the middle of the day. Cloud cover is possible tomorrow as well, which could keep temps in the low to mid 60s, we'll see.

Saw a report in the last hour of light rain and 37* at Manitowash Waters!

Barely cracking 60 here.

Looks like poor Tropical stays below or normal for a while: http://origin.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/people/sweaver/cfs_fcst/images1/wk1.wk2_20120917.NAsfcT.gif

And then the poor guy just stays at normal. http://origin.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/people/sweaver/cfs_fcst/images1/wk3.wk4_20120917.NAsfcT.gif

Western US to Minnesota looks like a pretty good October torch. I'm moving to the southeast.

Already down to 46 in Madison and 45 in Middleton, first 30s seem a good bet, but dewpoints in the low to mid 30s suggest we won't freeze. Hence the lack of freeze warnings, but a frost advisory is in effect for the MKX region. :snowman:

Remember not to spend several hours outside totally nude tonight. ;)
