HurricaneJosh
After the next convective band-- what looks like the inner eyewall-- I'm going to retreat to the town N of here. They have a huge, very high bridge. That's my last resort.

HurricaneJosh
10 pm track takes it directly over Golden Meadow. Cool, that's only a few miles S of here. Bull's-eye! This one ain't no microcane. It has a big core and it's lasting a long time. Getting really raked now-- highest winds of the night, I think. They have a huge, very high bridge. That's my last resort. You don't have much time to wait since Isaac is pumping water into the marshes west of the river already. Once winds turn easterly you need to get out of there, if you wait till they have a southerly component it'll quickly become too late.

wxmeddler
KGAO in the past 15 minutes has been getting gusts to mid-70's as that band is going through. KGAO is about 30 miles SE of you.
Scott747
You should be getting raked right now. Enough of a bump to the N and you will be in the eye. Airport reported 76 mph gust 30 min ago.

andyhb
Getting totally raked. You probably will need to consider getting out of there soon, winds shifting southeasterly as the storm continues with a westerly component of motion.

turtlehurricane
Surge levels still not spiking at Grand Isle so Josh is safe where he is for now. When these numbers spike that'll be the sign to go http://tidesonline.nos.noaa.gov/data_read.shtml?station_info=8761724+Grand+Isle,+LA
Superstorm93
Recon just found the center due south of Grand Isle. Seems like the wobble west is real. Stay safe Josh.
HurricaneJosh
Just had some of the highest winds of the evening: big, gnarly bursts. Worried a bit about my exposure. Since the equipment is malfunctioning anyway, and there's no need for exposure, I'm thinking to park up against the side of the church. By the way, a Louisiana state trooper-- who was obviously curious as to what the hell I'm doing out here and pulled up alongside my car-- told me best is to stay put until the cyclone passes. He said the levees will hold and this town won't flood. He said not to go down to Golden Meadow.

wxmx
Highly probable that the eye is gonna be west of Galliano, probably even west of Houma (Morgan city?)
HurricaneJosh
The cyclone must be moving, because the wind is shifting, praise the Lord. Still getting some of the highest winds of the evening-- big monster gusts. But I take the directional shift as a sign of progress.
