WilkesboroDude
Bermuda looks like it could be impacted now because of all the westward shifts. Sharp northward forecast with the global models now, Canada may need to watch just in case. If Leslie bombs out, the East Coast could see some deadly rip currents and waves. WilkesboroDude
Looks like Leslie wants deal a strike now. - Back in our neck of the woods... Long term /Saturday through Monday/... as of 245 PM Wednesday...focus will remain on the wave spectrum as a significant swell component from distant tropical activity will continue to affect all waters. The latest Swan model continues to advertise a broad range of significant seas from 5-8 feet Saturday and Sunday decreasing to 4-6 feet Monday. Regarding winds...a modest southwest flow of 10-15 knots will prevail Saturday ahead of a cold front. Winds will shift to northerly Sunday from 10-15 knots and diminish and veer slightly Monday. WilkesboroDude
Leslie is a fish. Even for Newfoundland. Leslie strikes Newfoundland... Leslie brought sustained winds to the capital of St. Johns of 58 mph, gusting to 82 mph, at 10:30 am local time. At least three other stations in Newfoundland recorded gusts over hurricane force: Cape Pine (85 mph), Bonavista (77 mph), and Argentia (74 mph). Damage to buildings has been reported in St. Johns, and the storm has knocked out power to much of Southeast Newfoundland, including the capital. - Dr. Jeff Masters
