Here are some of mine from Westchester:

2/5/01: modest event, around 8", gets forgotten because of Dec 2000 and Mar 2001

Equinox storms, March 2004: forget the exact dates but each of these two snowfalls in late Marchdropped like 6-7" here in Dobbs Ferry, ending a great winter on a snowy note

2/27/08: Dropped 6" in Dobbs Ferry and 10" in Poughkeepsie where I was living, very quiet snowfall but finally a "big one" in a poor winter for the Hudson Valley

12/19/08: The original 12/19 storm, was an overrunning that dumped 8" here in town, followed by a few more inches on 12/21, surrounded by cold weather

2/16/10: small coastal left 6" in Dobbs Ferry, forgotten because of 12.5" on 2/10 and 26" on 2/25

I definitely go along with 2/5/01. Still my biggest snow fall in 16 years of records.

You don't see it mentioned too often but November 2002 was pretty darn memorable. 10.7" on the 27th followed by 3.4" on the 29th. That 14.1" had a w.e. of 0.88"!! And then there was an ice storm on the 16-17th that knocked out power for over 4 days here.

I am going to pull a Jerry here. In March of 1967 I was 10 years old, back when according to Kev, March was a winter month. I went to school that morning remembering the forecast was for rain, we got hammered with a foot of snow, my school bus was stuck for an hour right outside the school. I also remember another March storm later that same year.

Veterans day 87 was fantastic too.

Definitely March 8th, 2005 -- the flash freeze event.

SOB....just about to post that.

Aside from March 1993, most impressive snow/wind combo I have seen.

Honorable mention for me would be the double-barrel Dec 2008 events.....aggregate KU totals.

I agree with Will on Feb 2006...def. overrated.

Were you in Westerly at the time?

I think we had a system around 1/7/97 that was not supposed to hit anyone in SNE. I watched TWC Friday night and my wif looked at the radar loop and exclaimed that we would get hit. I mocked her. The next morning I awake to heavy snow. 6+ was widespread. My wife's cred went off the charts.

That system made me so mad...we got about 30 minutes of heavy snow here and half an inch....then it slide just ot my SE...Milford had like 5" and then when I saw Foxborough on TV when the Patriots were playing their home playoff game, I couldn't believe it. They must have had like 9 or 10". I think parts of the Cape got a foot. Storm wasn't forecast to be much of anything.

Jerry if it's the storm I'm thinking about, excellent recollection. Wow. That storm was all mid level processes that gave us snow. Just to the south of BOS had like 8-10".

There was one that I remember, but I don't have the dates down like Will. It was Feb 2007 or 2008, maybe even 2006? We did not get more that 6-8", but it came down all at once.

I'm not sure which event in Feb that would be. 2007 had the sleet storm on Vday, but there was a norlun event on Feb 22-23 that year that dropped a solid 4-6" in Windham county and up through this area.

Feb 22, 2008 was a pretty good event, you might have been thinking of that one too.

Veterans day 87 was fantastic too.

Anyone have the stats from this event? I was in 5th grade and I woke up at 4 in the morning shocked at what I was seeing. It was the heaviest wind driven wet snow I had ever seen up till that point in my life. Newport had around 10 inches.

Late February 1999 for SE New England was a surprise for many.

My favorite was February 1994. Back to back double digit snow events on the south coast over the course of less than 72 hours.
