Hammer
Nice steady rain between Canton and Marietta today, but that is long gone. Not sure we could handle the 6" rain, but it would be good have the rain.
LithiaWx
.80" not bad being over 500 miles from the core. Looking for more.
Bevo
Well the models look wet for some of us tomorrow but i have a feeling that it doesnt happen or is much less than the models show. Then the reat of the week will be dry and then hot by the weekend. Raleigh NWS already saying mid 90's possible. Without precip those mid 90's will get all of us, not just eastern NC. Just a gut feeling, but I'm looking for a September with hardly a drop of rain for much of the Carolinas and GA. Maybe Oct too. Where are you getting your gut feeling from regarding Sept-Oct? Just curious since that has not been the case this summer, except for a 7 to 10 day stint to start July. I'm in western Spartanburg county, not that far from Jonesville. Snowless in Carrollton
Wouldn't it be funny if areas in the Carolinas get more rain than places in AL and MS ? I always thought the closer you are to the center the more rain you get, but apparently not. Heck, I got 2" today and i'm further away than AL and most of AL got very little. lj0109
Radar Estimated 6 inches of rain this afternoon only about 10 miles north of my home in St. Matthews, SC on the Calhoun/Richalnd County line. Picked up around 3 inches at the house.

NCWX
Cold front coming into NC is looking pretty strong, and seems to be destroying the tropical airmass that was going to give Eastern NC a lot of rain..... any thoughts on this frontal system? That's really just a guess but if this fall goes like 2005 when Katrina went into the New Orleans area that Sept was very dry around here. Of course that is just 1 event to use as an analog but that's just how I see things playing out this fall.

MotoWeatherman
.61" IMBY today. Rained for about 6 hours which was nice as it all soaked in. NAM suggests a repeat tomorrow. We shall see.

Of course that is just 1 event to use as an analog but that's just how I see things playing out this fall. I see where you're coming from on that. However, I don't know that the actual storms themselves are comparable. Perhaps the time of season maybe, but Katrina and Isaac are not even apples to oranges - maybe more like pecans to figs. Having said that, historically it had been that Fall would typically usher in drier stretches - but really, what *is historical anymore (rhetorical)? I don't necessarily see 2005 happening, but I don't expect it to be as wet as it has either. In fact, I'm rather hoping it goes around me for a while and soaks GA and much of middle and eastern NC. We may have gotten a trace but that was it. On this I can agree. I picked up .01 IMBY, however I am very very far from being dry. The drought does not pertain to much of Spartanburg County (particularly the western part). I have been lumped in with a drought monitor that is a phantom to me. I cannot remember the last time I endured a summer with so much green - especially this late in the game.
Shawn
We may have gotten a trace but that was it. The radar image is showing my area with barely anything, but it lightly rained pretty much all day. I'm sure it was over a 3/4 of an inch total around Lake Murray. dsaur
I like how the Doc. brings it back into range for some good rain, after it has had the wind beaten out of it. Hope that holds, but it is out a ways. T
CandymanColumbusGA
LOL! Got to love tropical forecasting and where boundaries lay themselves... We picked up a whopping .06" officially. The most reported in the viewing area was just under .5" from a t-storm that popped up around dinner time just north of Columbus. Oh well, hopefully we can get Isaac to come back through the Deep South and actually bring us rain! .... *Begins holding breath*

Brick Tamland
I guess everyone is on the main forum talking about Isaac. But the worst case seems to be happening with it just creeping along, even stalling. It might be a minimal hurricane, but it doesn't matter if it just stalls and keeps dumping rain. Marion_NC_WX
If you're a big fan of the Euro...which on the record was the first model to hint at a Louisiana landfall, then the leftovers of Issac will make it about as far north as Southern Illinois before making a sharp turn southeast and could end up as a MCC type feature coming across the Tennessee Valley and into the Appalachians around Labor Day. Local Yokel Wx
Via James Spann twitter account (@Spann)... FYI… the center of Isaac is running about 20-30 miles east of where it was forecast to be at this point.
Marion_NC_WX
Robert has an update on Isaac on his site. I don't have access at this time. However looking at water vapor there is a ton of dry air across the Midwest ano Ohio Valley region...an area that Isaac is supposed to track through. Either that dry air is going to eat Isaac apart or...what? I'll say this much...tropical systems like to stay in its rich envirnment, and with the steering currents being light, Isacac may resist to move very far north. Today will be an interesting day in terms of its forward movement.
Stormsfury
Amazing rain here. Some places have as much as 9" of rain. Most of town is messed up. People on kayaks and wakeboarding through downtown Charleston. Summerville on Tuesday got about 1", but I picked up another 2.5"-3" last night. Again on Wednesday, major thunderstorm rainfalls, Mt Pleasant Regional Airport picked up 3.63" in 51 minutes last night from 6:15 to 7:06 pm, another 1.52" in the next 45 minutes, and the last report was 6.36" at 9:05 pm. I'm sure considering the rains lasted up to about 2 am there, totals probably were closer to 8". Downtown Charleston on Wednesday again was hit, although the rainfalls were less, the situation was exacerbated by Tuesday's rainfall and more streets were again closed due to flash flooding. Isaac was only responsible for infusing the column with very deep tropical moisture. PWAT's close to 2.5" create efficient rain producers In a 48 hour period, anywhere from 4"-14" has fallen across the Tri-County Region of the Lowcountry. Seeing the eye over land on this thing is amazing http://hint.fm/wind/ I guess it doesn't take much to impress me, but this wind map is the coolest thing I've seen in a while. BTW, thanks for the warm welcome, Dsaur...I do not post much. The three kiddos keep me pretty fried. I do read every day, though. Come on, Isaac...we're waiting on ya! dsaur
Hey, Smoke, well post your obs. at least Always like to know what happening down there where it comes up from, lol. I've had rain all day. It hasn't translated very well into the bucket, but the trees and ground are loving a good drip/drizzle soaking. And the temps are better with the sun tucked away behind the clouds. I have a feeling Isaac isn't through with it's rain for us by a long shot. Hope I'm right, for once So far we've been in the dry slot relatively speaking, but if Isaac could just move east a bit, or west a bit, I'd see some better rains. Tony .1 so far today, but hammered out real thin so it went a long way and lasted most of the day Like seeing that map below. I think we can still get 4 or 5 inches with a little luck.
