There were a few more NJ counties we thought about ending the growing season, however at least half of the county has to have temperatures below freezing for at least 3 hours. Some of Monmouth County was just about there, but we thought overall not enough to warrant ending the growing season just yet.

Interesting - didn't know that, thanks for the response. Per my davis I was sub freezing from 5am-8am, so just meeting the requirement for here.

For the next sub freezing night, will a warning be issued for all of Monmouth or just eastern Monmouth?

My garden is history after the 29.7 Saturday morning. Stripped the peppers of anything usable beforehand.

Tomatoes went in August from blight -- again. Covered my banana tree with a tarp until I decide

on something a little more permanent - i.e. some sort of heated enclosure. This is the 3rd year

for the tree, but I've been unable to keep it alive above ground through the winter.

Now with the warmer temperatures, the stink bugs can renew their assault.

.43" here in the 4" gauge. My Vue didn't register anything today. I took out the tipping bucket assembly, didn't really find anything, though. I'm a bit upset about that, since I just put it up in June.

Hmm... I think the Vue gauge is different from the Pro2 one, so I probably can't help you. I'm guessing its not something obvious like being clogged with leaves.

Thanks Ray. No, everything appeared clear. I took it out and manually moved things around, made sure it worked. I reattached it and poured a small amount of water in, and it seemed to work OK. Something just prevented the bucket from tipping. Now my measurements are all messed up! :arrowhead:

I know this didn't happen around here but my in laws up in Maine just felt a 4.5 magnitude earthquake. Also hearing reports of people feeling it in Boston.

3.9 in SE Canada too. $20 says MA/NE gets a mini over the next 7 -> 10 days. Link: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/dyfi/events/us/b000d75b/us/index.html
