mattinpa
I want to see cooler weather since that can be an indicator for the winter. Anyway, 850s on the 12z Euro aren't quite as high.

mattinpa
I had no idea it gets cooler as winter comes closer, I thought it gets hotter, lol. Of course. I meant I prefer cooler fall weather in October rather than high 70s/80s.
Parsley
Of course. I meant I prefer cooler fall weather in October rather than high 70s/80s. Well, we had temps. in the 80s last October, followed by several inches of snow a week or two later. Anything can happen. I wouldn't mind 75 degrees up til the first day it decides to snow, then roughly 90 days of winter followed by the return of summer. ASAP.

Redmorninglight
A warm October for us could mean a positive AO/NAO which would be good for rapid snow growth in the arctic, right? That theoretically would help us improve our chances for a negative NAO/AO in DJF I assume.

And this is more like it. As Tom 172927)337388373737738933938383 mentioned a few days ago, the - nap could flex and drop,th trough and gradient towards us a bit more. Also, the euro and gfs (Moreso the ECM) was overdoing then WAR from 594dm and now down to a weaker 588dm ridge. Beautiful Pattern though!! If only it was Jan! (even December 5th?) ;-)
bluehens
I would think that would continue to raise the PDO some and hopefully feedback to strengthen the NINO a bit. That would be a beautiful sight to see in the cold months.

RedSky
Seems like a decent unseasonably cold outbreak is possible out towards day 10. Weather world hinting at it with a recurving typhoon and greenland blocking, mentioned wet snowflakes in the mountains could occur.
