MGorse
I have a very important question regarding this upcoming winter... Will I be able to finally use my brand new snowblower?
fsu_wxgirl
I'm going to say yes. Based purely on the fact that I do not own one and just moved into our new house that has a mile long driveway I have a very important question regarding this upcoming winter... Will I be able to finally use my brand new snowblower?
Quakertown needs snow
I have a very important question regarding this upcoming winter... Will I be able to finally use my brand new snowblower? You still have it? I thought you sold it and downsized to a sweeper? . I rubbed my snowblower last winter and we know how that turned out so no rubbing this season. MGorse
I'm going to say yes. Based purely on the fact that I do not own one and just moved into our new house that has a mile long driveway It sounds like you are confident, so works for me. You still have it? I thought you sold it and downsized to a sweeper? . Yes still have it (no downsize). It still has not seen snow, but plenty of dust though. dryslotted
I am going to start getting my snowblower ready for action early next month in a defiant show of force to Team Torch and their operatives in the upper atmosphere... She has not seen action since Feb 2011, and went into a state of deep depression towards the end of last "winter"...Her hopeful looks at me each time I went into the garage eventually turned into long glares as the season dragged on. Hoping to let her run around and play this year...
famartin
I think someone already mentioned the only decent PDO/ENSO correlation (at least since 1950)...

MGorse
I wonder if my snow thrower can start. Hopefully you do not have gas sitting in it without a fuel stabilizer added in. I learned that the hard way!

dryslotted
I let mine run until it ran out of gas at the end of the '11 season...I learned that the hard way with my weed wacker. I had to take the carburetor apart and clean it. Now I use Stabil with all the outdoor engines...
RedSky
i never used a fuel stabilizer and never had a problem with mowers, etc.
dryslotted
i never used a fuel stabilizer and never had a problem with mowers, etc. I think it largely depends on the amount of ethanol in the gas you're using and/or how long the gas has been sitting there... WxMidwest
Last three winters have given me some new found respect for the NAO which in the northeast I should have had all along. So, yes anything outside of the tropics that we can glean will help more than average given the state of the nino. Jack's NF pool: Pos NAO Your box TBD Recurving tropics: I think neutral Eurasian snowcover TBD There's another one related to the Japaneses N/S SST Diploe, it's amazing and precurses the with a 22-23 months lead on Winter... Near 0.7 Correlation coef in that one, could be related to the Kuroshio current lead impact on the NP Trenberth region.. Just a theory..

I'm guessing some, but not all. The CFS2 is looking more enso neutral all the time.
Parsley
I wonder if my snow thrower can start. Mine started today on first try. I told it not to get its hopes up this year. I'd probably sell the damn thing if it wasn't given to me for free by my father-in-law. It's a John Deere which sells for close to 1K.
