weatherbo
Traverse for 2 nights, Tues/Wed last week. Went sightseeing from Traverse to Leland to Empire back to Traverse. Then went to Old Mission, Petosky, Harbor Springs and back to Petosky all on Wednesday. Ended up at the Odawa Casino that evening and won 2500 bucks. Then drove home Thursday morning. All in all a quiet trip up North. Sounds like a nice road trip!!! Chilly, rainy morning in the North Woods. Had a few flakes mix in a couple hours ago, and zone calling for up to an inch possible tonight.... all rain at the moment. Leaves in this general area have taken a beating with two red maples in my yard bare.

But it's been a PITA for awhile. Hopefully it's relatively transient...

BowMeHunter
lol, angry. I got my winter expectation already set to as low as it can go.. I just ask for one thing out of this winter and then it can piss off and do w/e and that is to have a decent little period of winter weather for the holidays for all. Last Decembers 1.1" made me pretty miserable at times. We had a stretch of Decembers here in the not so distant past that was pretty brutal.. 1998-99 - 3.4" 1999-00 - 2.3" 2000/01 - 49.5" 2001/02 - 2.6" 2002/03 - 4.7" 2003/04 - 3.1" 2004/05 - 1.3"

BowMeHunter
Exactly why I am never disappointed if December ends up with less than 5", it has happened too often in my lifetime. For Milwaukee less than 5" has happened 34 times since 1884.. Its happened 10 times since i was born in the mid 70's. Jan 25 times.. 6 times since born. Feb 35 times. 11 times since born. March 45 times. 15 times since born. I heart, Timmy.

wisconsinwx
It really is remarkable how boom and bust December has been here lately. Three years in the last 12 with over 30 inches, yet a whole host of December's with less than 5 inches.

Yep, was thinking of that one too. Those are two great bookends to a "fantasy winter" for us. What January do we pick to complete it? 1999? I could throw in Jan 1978 since I was two years old at the time.
