Scott747
Scott, should I head down to Chetumal? I just need you to tell me. Can't load pics too well, so it's like I'm blind. Right now? Buena Vista sees the eye That junction sees the northern eye wall Bacalar sees the southern eye wall The trend continues S Head towards Chetumal but not fully committed to Chetumal. You should have time to reposition unless things fully deteriorate. Hour at best.

Floydbuster
Hurry up, Josh! You're gonna get in some deep gray convective blobs around the eye.
Amped
Chemtal does not look like an easy drive. Don't try to make it now. STay put or head due south. Edit: never mind, if you're at the Junction Chental isn't that bad, head that way.
JPFLL
yeah if the idea is to be near the coast then Chetumal is closest he will get in that area.. nearer the eye appears to be the little Buena Vista subdivision just south of junction 293 of Insurgentes / Cancun Chetumal Hwy... or Bacalar small village about 17 miles south of Buena Vista.. Superstorm93
Picking up on lightning in the eye when it passed over Banco Chinchorro. Big payoff if you hit that.

Jim Edds
hey Josh, I'm looking at radar and maps. The eye appears to be 150km from belize city which is about 93 miles. That would put you near Costa Maya on the coast. If you are not there then go west of there to Buena Vista on MX 307. Chetumal is too far south. Good Hunting. HurricaneJosh
OK, cool-- I found a place to stay in Buena Vista-- so I'm staying out here. This is where I'll ride it out. Sorry for erratic responses-- connection bad.
andyhb
Good luck, it's coming in fast, and it's looking like it will be intensifying as it makes landfall.
Superstorm93
Eye has warmed a bit on IR I agree with Andy. This is probably intensifying as its hauling in.

Scott747
Awesome, thanks, Scott!!! I'm in Buena Vista, should I stay put? Yes. Core is continuing to wrap up as it made landfall. Still wobbling. Just the right wobble and you should be smack in the middle.
andyhb
Looks like it's making landfall right now, eye is as prominent as it has ever been..
tornadotony
Yes. Core is continuing to wrap up as it made landfall. Still wobbling. Just the right wobble and you should be smack in the middle. Agree with Scott on the position. The radar depiction, given the distance from the dome, is quite impressive. Would not be at all shocked if this is already at cat-2 intensity. Eye looks to be right over Costa Maya (hard to tell based on horrible radar images), which is about 36 miles east of Buena Vista

Ian
Needless to say, we'd probably have a major (and maybe a high end one) making landfall if this didn't have so many problems in the previous few days, but I'll damn take it now that's for sure... this stuff (if only there was more water ahead) is probably good for the other thread.. if anywhere.
