We were one of the last ones to get off the Cape after vacationing there with family from Canada. I wish I stayed though..lol. Wasn't a big deal where I was in Brockton. Lost power for half a day.

I wonder why it wasn't more impressive where you were in Brockton. The storm was pretty intense at landfall and on the south coast.

Nice 65-70 knot gusts in SE CT from that one. 50 knot gusts as far west as HVN.

The winds on the west side of it weren't all that crazy. I mean even Logan had its strongest wind when winds turned NW. There was tree damage and all that, but overall it wasn't as bad as it was even 20 miles to my E and SE. Usually E-NE winds on an accelerating hurricane aren't that strong.

You've been calling for no storm developing/miss for days..Sooner or later it's time to jump on the cane train

No, I'm just thinking this isn't really a threat for SNE specifically. Unless, you like indirect Sultan rains. Besides, it's way too early to even care. Nothing is ever 0% threat..but I don't foresee this as a high threat for us.

Yeah Logan gusted over 65mph out of the NW on the backside. I guess Logan's gusts/sustained out of the E/NE prior to the eye may be a bit unrepresentative of areas along the track given the fact that fetch is straight off the water for them.

We did have the eye sort of pass overhead, but it was so broad by that point. I think we had gusts 70 to possibly 80 where I was...but I thought there would be more tree damage. It reminded me of Irene stuff. I couldn't scout the area then like I can now, so it's possible there were pockets around town that were worse. I know where my folks are now..they had no power for almost a week.

FMH gusted to 82 knots... and EWB 96 knots in the eastern eyewall. Had the storm not been going NE it probably would have been much more impressive for your area I guess.

Little rain along/east of track hurts tree damage potential too lol. 38 had inches and inches prior to the storm making trees ripe for uprooting.

Agreed. Not memorable at all in Foxboro.

Also, stick a fork in the CV system. Looks like **** on models.

I went to the Cape 2 weeks later and they got hit really hard. Lots of damage and no leaves on the trees because the salt spray burned them off. Was extremely weird to see that.

Yeah my grandparent's neighborhood in w hyannisport was hit really hard. Lots of trees down and some structural damage to homes down the street.

We had like 2-3" of rain prior to the winds really increasing. A few squalls near the eye as it passed overhead. I was hoping it would be further west, but it was fun. The smell of fresh cut trees was another thing I remember. Pine and oak/maple. I didn't realize EWB gusted to 96kts. Where did you see that?

It's in the NHC report

It should have been a little better where I was...but maybe I was in a little screw zone as the eye widened and the wind field expanded. I'm also going by memory of my local area and these storms are notorious for having pockets of heavier damage.
