Word. We can start microanalyzing stuff on Monday. Everything between now and then is model watching.

Exactly. If this isn't a David, then give it a rest (yes I'm over exaggerating for y'all who don't pick up on that sort of thing). I can't wait for my poorly timed wave of heavy rain and non visible waterspouts. :axe:

Some long range forecaster you are :axe: :axe: :axe:

I am 2/2 lol. Last year I called for an East Coast hit months in advance and chose to rent a house for a week that just so happened to be when the governor ordered mandatory evacuations. I sure know how to pick em' ! :axe:

The best was when a newspaper took my long range forecast out of context last year and it said that the risk for a major hurricane landfall in NJ-NYC was high this year, lol.

I don't miss being in the hot seat.

Rant 2: For the love of all that is good and pure, stop posting crappy tropical model tracks every run! The only good post to come about since last night was Phil's topography post but we can see how popular that thread is... :axe:

Huh? Here? Or do you mean the main thread?

(that topo thread - esp the main post) was great. Interesting to see how the two storms interact (or not)

Probably because that thread was more informative than anything else, but Gustav in '08 was such a cool example.

The main thread but I am just blowing off steam. In reality, it is not a big deal.

The tropography thread was excellent.

Very true. Phil is a great poster.

Sounds like HM needs a good mountain torque event based on his recent posts.

LOL... as much as I enjoy a good East Asian MT, I want to stay in summer mode as long as possible. :)

people like metfan need to be purged

Metfan tried to engage me into a semantical, technicality type of game yesterday with the word "banter" and I feel this is partially my fault because I haven't clearly stated my motives. I do not like him. It is that simple and I don't care what thread we are in. For the longest time, I said nothing and just figured he was a young excited weenie (like several years). But he chose to participate at the adult table when it came to the moderate risk / SPC debacle and so now I feel it's time to respond. His bad information sharing is appalling.

And on a semi-related note, I don't like to censor or ignore anyone on the forum and when someone responds with that argument, I feel it reflects their intellect. For the sake of the board, newcomers, etc. it is a bad argument to say "just put me on ignore and this is a banter thread."

Do these people know what "banter" means and understand it doesn't give them leeway to post NAM solutions for a tropical cyclone and not get reamed?

The Tropical Prediction Center has issued a Dry Paint Watch for all of Americanwx.

A Dry Paint Watch is issued when the possibilty exists for the entire site to realize that the tropical cyclone that they thought they were watching is actually drying paint within 36-48 hours.

If Issac's transition to drying paint becomes imminent, then a Dry Paint Warning may be issued.

Drying Paint is accompanied by frequent gusts of rage, with sustained bouts of restlessness, and a severe surge of inane posts, accompanied by hallucinations.

Stay tuned to the Tropical Prediction Center and your local National Weather Service for updates on this static situation.

funny stuff right there

I was thinking last night that all this fuss about threads and posting etiquette was much ado about garbage so far...

Meanwhile, Euro looks a touch north at 48 hrs vs. 72hr yesterday... may not be good for Hispaniola interaction.

The level of interaction with Hispanola will be pretty irrelevant if it reamins this poorly organized.
