Herb@MAWS
Hanging outside for a few minutes. Noticed how the low-level flow and lowest clouds are coming in from the NE. Reminds me of a cool fall pattern. Nice cool breeze. Always enjoy observing clouds when things start coming in from the ocean.
mattie g
Ian says the one who complains the most will get the rain. Im trying but Im only an apprentice to Ian, he is the master. Worked for me the other day. I've been complaining like a b***h.
CranberryWX
The soil is powder dry here though it's typical for late August and Sept. The vegetation took a shock going from 7.26" in July to 0.77" so far in August. I just started watering the lawn today for the first time this summer. CRW is currently below normal on temperature for August which is a change.

mattie g
What's with the swirl that came onshore with the rain south of us? Was it a complex that formed a surface low over warm waters?
Avdave
What's with the swirl that came onshore with the rain south of us? Was it a complex that formed a surface low over warm waters? I;d seen that too and it is dumping serious rains, over 11" in Roanoke Rapids, NC, just over the VA line. Flooding reports on Warwick Blvd in Newport News, VA as well. Riptide
Barometric pressure is very high across the region despite the rain and storms, it must be a very small low pressure system.

Mrs.J
Taking advantage of this overcast day to work in the backyard. Some light sprinkles but nothing to stop us. Put in some sod in advance of the rain that is moving up.
nw baltimore wx
every time it looks like the rain is about to make a push it stops a bit later. i guess the nam didnt really get us till late afternoon/evening tho. Looking at the 12Z nam and gfs models, I was surprised at how dry they were for this afternoon, but the rain shield is crawling so it makes sense. Hopefully once it does start to rain, we can get a nice prolonged soaker. (side note: is anyone else's browser opening two repetitive windows for external links on AmWx?) Ian
Radar quality decreased quite a bit as the band moved north. Light here now... This sys isn't going anywhere fast -- so wouldn't worry too much about not getting anything etc.
