No measurable rain at my house since the 22nd. Need a good synoptic system, since these pop up storms aren't doing it.

Amen. We need something area-wide. We got sprinkled on overnight - that evening complex went *POOF* like so many others have so far this summer.

Last Thursday was the only time I've mowed my lawn in six weeks.

looks like the tornado petered out pretty quick once it got close to the beach

that's a nice ride down Rt. 13 from Salisbury to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

I hope it didn't destroy one of the Royal Farms down that way....love their coffee!

Any chance the stuff slowly getting organized over the wv pandhandle make a slow soaking pass through dc metro? I'm getting sick of watering my hot pepper garden every other day. I'm not sure how much rain mby has gotten the last 2 weeks but it sure seems like not much is the right answer.

Less water = hotter peppers.

Wow, just went through a very intense storm. Hail for 20 minutes, lightning with a flash and boom combined, winds gusting to 20-40mph. Reports of golf ball size hail a few miles to the west. I'm in the SW part of the city.

Yep, they do like dry spells. I got a good crop going but they will droop if I don't water every other day. That's what's frustrating. If I forget a day they get too dry. They'll even drop flowers sometimes.

I do a partially submerged planting pot type of thing. Big benefit is I can pull them in October before the frost and finish off the ripening in my house. Plants are usually loaded with half ripes just about the time we get our first cold snap. I can increase harvest big time by pulling them and moving them inside.

No suprise on the cells out west. Fizzled like a wet firecracker before they got here. Oh well. Par for the course.
