So a coworker brings me in this great book with just fantastic photos. Great New England Storms of the 20th century. The Boston Globe put it out and they have these profiles of weathermen scattered throughout. Couple of things, I never knew Met Kevin Lemanowicz is from Moosup! Dr Mel said " when population density is factored into the tornado occurrence equation, the odds of a person being effected are greater in Wmass and CT than in any other part of the country" I like this quote" Thomas Jefferson said there wasn't as much snow as when he was a boy. That is what everybody says. If that were so, there would not be any snow anymore. (ha) Great book with a lot of photos I had never seen.

That is a great book. I have that, but I buried it somewhere.

I remember last mid August when were talking about how much rain we had received and the possibility of a tropical storm. Hmmmm The long term, end of month to start of Sept looks like an interesting period.

You want irony. Exactly a year ago today TAN received 1.62" of rain (4.62" mtd). Today I've seen 1.61".

If we can maintain a persistent trough over the Midwest and the Bermuda high we definitely run the rusk of a tropical wave making a run at us.

Looks like the rains come back to the Midwest. Hemispheric shift getting primed for a seasonal change, exactly when we run the risk.

Clearly the pattern has changed. Drought buster. Love these intermittent days of torrential downpours. Can't wait for the 1st nights in the 40's again.

Nicely advertised by the models too. Temp rise not ridiculous but higher dews and more rain as predicted. Just get a trough in the east come August and that's the recipe.

Bob, I won't take this anywhere after this question, so I apologize in advance.

Is Pete banned fromt he weather side now, too?

Yes..his hair was too long so they banned him

LOL How could you have missed all that?

He got banned for mouthing off at the powers that be here...but I didn't think he used any offensive language or did anything

unethical, fraudulent, etc. He just wouldn't let it go and became very annoying to them. I guess that kind of thing gets you an indefinite ban here.

Meh on your analysis. I think he is quite content now.

Are any of you members at his board and do you participate there? Yes or No. THanks. *This has nothing to do with bannings or staff caring if you post there or not. That's your choice. You are still welcome to post here and there is no conflict wrt being part of both boards. I'm just personally asking.

Yep, its his board I just move stuff around to their proper areas. We have had some good convos on the weather side and the political guys like it. The rest is garbage from forum wars and balless posters. Like I said a hundred times, Pete is my friend and several others are his friends too. We can talk shop at our leisure and not worry about anyone trying to protect scientific integrity or cause trouble. I love AMWX, well the weather side, but am very pleased Pete has a forum. for the reasons above. A great byproduct is it keeps the idiot Dudley do rights out of our sub forum. They have found new targets.

Ok, nevermind wrt the above question for you. This is all I needed to know.

I joined Pete's site and have made a handful of useless, space wasting posts (kind of like I do on this forum), mainly music, and other misc. nothingness.

I view some of the weather info, and go into topics that I may find interesting (music, etc.). I've browsed some of the headings of the WAY OFF TOPIC stuff but have not contributed to it.

I find your posts interesting always. I think Pete has 80 members all from here. Have fun at your Party, hope the rain holds off.

I post there some, but I never take part in any offensive stuff. If they try to bait me I keep it to a higher level in responding. There are a few obvious people that engaged in offensive stuff over there, but it doesn't really represent the majority at all.

Pete's problem there is that his free speech credo is running up against a handful of people that will abuse it for sport.

Who cares? It was created on the premise of continuing drama. I couldn't care less if people want to post there. The less hateful drama here, the better. It is basically the MRG version of weenietown. The wx isn't exactly exciting, but I'd rather read about dewpoints than this all day.

I registered under CT Blizzy lol

I did laugh when I saw the banner that said "A Free Speech community" but "free speech" on the internet isn't such a good thing when you have crazy people hiding behind their keyboard.
