As expected and forecast this prediction was a HUGE failure here. 0.00 inches of rain during daylight hours here, nothing but brilliant blue sunshine all weekend...........sorry:(

Maybe yesterday. Saturday featured a huge downpour with a good inch of rain around 11am. Granted the rest of the day was rainfree and sunny. Yesterday was awesome.

Low 60s, but it feels a hell of a lot better. I do think we'll see some relief next week. The long range is changing a bit. The 570 thickness contour which has been a permanent fixture struggles to get here. So while it may be a little above normal in the 11-15 day, the back is slowly cracking on this.

it should be by then, it will almost be September. The big Euro cooldown advertised last week is a failure, so I would not get too excited about another advertised cooldown in the day 10+ range...

If we're going to use home stations to judge humidity then we need to shift the oppressiveness scale higher since it was based off off airport obs. Therefore 75 is oppressive, 65 is a bit humid, and 55 is comfy.

Yeah looks like the goal posts need to be moved. Good point. Make it your best day ever Brian.

Exactly. If we use home stations then truly oppressive days have dew points flirting with 80. Regardless of siting we use the ASOS readings for a reason... they're a benchmark and easily comparable. I think this is the dumbest conversation we've ever had in this subforum and we've had some really dumb ones.

A day 8-10 euro op cool down or any cool down for the matter should be taken with a grain of salt if the ensembles are meh about it...which they were. At least this time around, the hemispheric pattern is changing. Sure it might not be pure Canadian air here, but it probably will be a break from this swamp of recently. September can still be very warm and humid so it doesn't always mean we cool because we head into late August. I can't wait to rid this puke airmass. If I wanted to live in A/C, I would move to FL.

Then why do you constantly get involved in it? Just don't reply

agree. I turned ours off last night-it was tolerable. My electric bill for July was insane. August is heading down the same path.

Because there's really no debate. You just troll anytime someone mentions humidity or posts a METAR with dew point readings.

There have been some really weird debates on this forum.....americanwx in general. I tried to tell a member in the climate change forum yesterday that just because you have snowcover...it does not mean your temp will be 20F lower given the same airmass without snow cover. The same people who don't understand how the atmosphere works, love to try and tell you how they think it works..lol.

dewpoints finally back into the 60s here. damp air FTL. one of my window A/C units had mildew growing in it.

The airmass sucks. For those pinning all there hopes for high dews on getting an EF3 in their neighborhood....good luck to that..lol. I'll take the odds on that and rather have more comfortable air.
