I just remember either on here..or maybe when we chased the cane out on the Cape you gave me some very kind words, and said i really know my stuff about the wx or something to that effect.

But lately you and some of the other mets have really been kind of berating to some of us that don;t have degrees.

I dish out a lot, so can take alot..but it's an observation several people have noticed(mets included) and talked to me about.

Again..it's more just an observation..You guys do what you want. Whatever works and keeps everyone happy I guess

Who is picking on you? If I came out and said outlandish statements like dews won't get below 65F for weeks, I certainly hope someone would call me out on it.

It's the constant extreme spectrum that makes you a target.

Wow warmer than I thought. Hideous for those with no Ac. Those might even go up a bit the next 5 days esp with lows not falling below 71-72

I only have a window unit ac in my bedroom and it hasn't been terrible. A few of the July days sucked but by and large it's been lovely.. Especially the last couple weeks.

And I live in the much maligned horrid torch spot of the ct river valley.

Hasn't been too bad out in SE MA with the cool nights.

Right but Ryan said the last few weeks have been lovely cool? Really??

I didn't say lovely cool I said lovely. It hasn't been awful even with high dews on some of the days temps didn't soar and we had some nice showers to cool things down.

It honestly hasnt been that bad since mid July. Hot? Humid? Sure! But pretty nice summer weather if you ask me and nothing close to unbearable or unheard of.

Try living in my heat magnet/ furnace of a house. The last 2 nights have been good, but for the most part it's been a miserable place to be this summer. Uncomfortable most of the summer. Hate, hate, hate summer.

I hate summer too but I don't think this summer has been too bad, especially the nights. After mid-July we've had plenty of nights with lows in the 50s. At least for me, anytime the low will be in the 50s its usually cool enough to have a box fan in my window after 9 or 10pm.

FWIW, you could try getting some box fans (not the cheap 10" window fans they sell) and put them in windows to blow the warm air out and cooler outside air in. I have an attic fan that sucks all the heat out of the house pretty quickly.

I think this shows an accurate year-to-year comparison. Gives support to both the warmer than normal AND the 'nothing excessive' scenarios that have been debated ad nauseum the entire summer.

Met summer summary to date at the Pit:

Summer 2012 Summer 2011

Total Days AOA 90* -- 2 AOA 90* --2

Total 80-89* -- 28 (counting today) 80-89* --17

Total 70-79* -- 23 70-79 -- 32

Total 60-69* -- 12 60-69 -- 13

Total 50-59* -- 4 50-59 -- 3

We need a cane to come through and get some good weather talk going...and knock the Internet out for some posters.

This is why I essentially only post the winter thread, and not very much at that.....I'm so sick of the same folks arguing over whether the sweat will drip more heavily from the east, or west side of their sacks....and arguing over whether or not the dew will be 68, or 71* in a few days.

Christ, this sucks.

Minimal help as the heat/ humidity as it just seem to linger all night. The sad thing is when it has cooled down at night and the heat/humidity aren't around outside, the sh*t literally lingers in my house until almost dawn. It is that pathetic.

235 year old crappy-azz house. Now that the big maple on the western side has gone down it's only worse.

I need to move to Alaska. Where is that AWESOME place that Pete always talks about going to? Maybe he can give me a lift in his helicopter.

sometimes the p & c makes me laugh. obviously you can have a day that averages out quite nice and still has a passing shower, but the wording is just strange sometimes:

A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Chance of precipitation is 30%

I don't like those at all. P & C more often than not don't make any sense.

Pretty cool how the high dews are stuck to the south. Still rather comfortable here at home.

Dew in the mid to upper 50s for pike northward and mostly 60s CT/RI and hugging the MA coast....but we will only use BDR as the representative for all of southern New England...so today is a hot/muggy/opressive day with 70+ dews.
