Mr Torchey
As expected okx has increased highs this week by 3-5 degrees, I expect that trend to continue. I dont see any relief here from low dews, just more of the swampy goodness. Nice towers out over li sound on the walk/run.........sweat pouring this is the good life. dendrite
Won't be much Maybe not for you since you love 70+ dews, but for most dews into the low/mid 50s is relief...especially with cooler nights.

Ginx snewx
Just got back from CT last night. Wife had the pleasure of running a 12-mile race in NL in yesterdays' heat and humidity. Good year for me to take it off! Now, I can hope for some good rains/storms tdoay and tonight, and perhaps maybe some cooler weather for the Bridge of Flowers race this coming Saturday. OT (can you be ot in the banter thread?), made it down to see Steve and the museum. It's a GREAT place. We got there an hour prior to closing so we didn't have time to really do it justice. I think I'd need 2.5 to really take everything in. But, very imopressive. Go! Great seeing you again QPF MPM. How did Momma do? If any of you guys are going to Foxwoods and want to stop by the museum, which is literally within eye site, let me know. Turtle, Joe Lundberg, Cold Miser, MPM have all stopped by. Mr Torchey
I thought you left the board? Huh? I said I was done, meaning done with the stupid temp talk. The board is biased heavily towards snow and cold, which makes sense, this is a place of refuge for ice pussays. As we know 99% of the human races despises cold and snow, so this is a sanctuary of sorts I guess. No point arguing, numbers are there for all to see, warmest year ever on record for all of new england besides Maine which is second warmest. The fire rages on. Ginx can keep talking about cool and day 10 troughs, I prefer to talk about reality and what has been actually happening. Dp of 75 right now, that is special. Big March on the way, you can lock that up right now, way above normal snowfall, perhaps late Feb too, until then its status quo.

ORH_wxman
Here are FACTS..........I am done here, this board is completely biased and ridiculous.................... Bias is often in the eye of the beholder, Joe. I believe Scott is the one who called for both above average July and August...yet that is not good enough for you, you need to call him biased because he wasn't as gung ho on a torch as you are. ORH_wxman
I don't know anyone in here who expected below normal for July or August. Agreed. The only thing I did was laugh at people who thought July might finish +5....that was obviously not going to happen. But that is brought to the sewing machine and spun into "you kept downplaying the heat, etc etc"....I guess that's right. I downplayed the heat by not thinking we'd get a +4 or +5 months...and it was correct.

If I was biased, I wouldn't have a job..lol. I guess in the winter, I'll call for 4-8" of snow at the terminal when it's only relegated to Ray...simply because I'm jealous of his area. Look we all know it's been warm. So, because we look for possible breaks in the pattern...somehow we are biased? Sure Pete might be biased, but I hope he is not indirectly referring to some of us. I fully admit not liking this airmass, but I would be a horrile met to let something like that affect a forecast.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Should I have been impressed by CEF's temperatures? Its been pretty warm for the last 6-7 weeks no doubt. Should I have not disputed claims of a +4 or +5 July because CEF had several heat waves?
CoastalWx
Have the 5 heat waves in 7 weeks at CEF created much of an impression on you or is that nothing special in your thoughts ? CEF was very warm no doubt, but if those +5s verified like some were throwing around, you pretty much would have been 90+ every day in those 7 weeks. I don't think anybody said it wasn't a very warm July.

Yea I see a big trough over head next week, like I said and you ignore those posts completely, warm days, cool days, no huge departures. You act like we have been consistently way above normal since June 1, not the case.

Well it may be considered by some to be extra-ordinary by some as no one thought this summer would be anywhere near as hot as last. My energy usage in July was 79 per day as compared to 78 last summer. IMO this year has rivaled last's in terms of heat and last summer's temps impressed quite a few in the met. community if i recall correctly. West Point, NY
The same 99% dislike 75 DPs as well. Think of how annoying it would be for you if Powderfreak posted 20 times a day all winter saying ...14/ -7 sunny, invigorating......the best winter ever rolls on. Just a quick peek at one climo station, Bos, shows them 65 less than June July last year. You can look up the rest and see.

Summer '10 actually stands out as the BM I think around eastern MA. Go look at July 2010 temp departures....not even a comparison to this year, yet somehow a few made it sound like we would go up in flames.

Last summer was hot but not as hot as 2010 was which was far worse. This summer has been comparable to date to 2011...you are correct on that front. Some may find that impressive or extreme...I don't. I found 2010 impressive here. I find this summer impressive in the M.A. or midwest, but not really in New England. If we can put up a +3 in August, then I'd be impressed. Its hard to get impressed with the summer as a whole when 1 of the months is below average...the other two better be at least +3 or higher. Likewise I doubt you would be extremely impressed with a winter if one of the months was above average and the other two weren't threatening records for cold or snow.
