Quincy
The cells over western Long Island have been dropping some hefty rainfall amounts with many reports of flash flooding. Also saw a few hail reports up to nickel-size.

CoastalWx
It's gonna take a bit to recover after this morning. Not sure how great the aftn is...maybe later on. Still looks like maybe srn areas could get some storms later tonight...maybe erb areas if things can develop quick.

CoastalWx
CT has recovered, but Wills area north may not Not quite. Need a few more degrees. Besides, it may have to wait until another s/w comes in. LI is where the best instability is right now with higher dews.

Ginx snewx
Yea look pop up, not impressive. The temp has actually dropped here from 79 to 76 due to that blowoff from LI. Debris FTW
Quincy
looks like the HRRR has really backed off. stays with the idea of just pop-up and mostly non-severe storms.

Quincy
Once the front comes through, we could see some decent storms, but obviously the risk would have been a bit higher if we were mostly sunny right now.
CoastalWx
Only the weenies. Scooter and I are both liking the setup later It could be good on paper, but it's not a slam dunk. If it doesn't work out I have a few thoughts as to why, but I'll let it play out. It's possible it may be confined further south near the shore line. Baroclinic Zone
Only the weenies. Scooter and I are both liking the setup later I'd still put the best shot at severe, south of most of the area. Your area and points S&W.
CoastalWx
I'd still put the best shot at severe, south of most of the area. Your area and points S&W. Yeah I'd say even NYC south for now. All that cirrus coming up is not helping either. We are in an area of weak height rises and sort of in between systems. The better dynamics are further sw and won't come in until early evening. I kind of see a genral line of storms coming together across the area as the front rolls through but where the best forcing is along the S coast and mostly down in SW CT is where I see the best chance at any severe cells popping up. PWATs are pretty high for a few of usm so we definitely run the risk of torrential downpours.
