I mean I could have gone 1-2 miles west and been in inches of rain this morning lol..

What do you think for rest of today?

I haven't looked hard. I had a late night last night.I guess we could see more storms fire in similar locations across western and central areas today with sun helping out. A few could be strong with enough heating I suppose.

I think even Scooter would agree we won't see 50's dews for a week to 10 days at least

Well next Sunday or early next week offer the chance of it, so I wouldn't go that far...but this week is still a little muggy looking. There seems to be cutoff potential late weekend and early next week with the block so strong.

Ryan any good pics from G-bury?

Nothing too great

Someone on my blog commented that the MCV was really a smaller vortex embedded in a larger MCV. I think that may be right. I'm not sure the physical process that goes into that though as the MCV acts as a warm core system.

So maybe a meso low or a surface reflection of this? Is that what he meant? I think in some shape or form we were talking about this in the form of a meso low type deal....because i honestly didn't have a good feel what to exactly call it.

Maybe I didn't get to see the best pics, but I wanted to see evidence of 100mph winds. Some of those pics were telling, but I remember when we had the 100mph macroburst in Brockton the tree damage was tremendous...including some structural damage. I didn't really see that in those pics, but again..maybe I didn't see the most damaged areas.

The MCV here did form a strong mesolow (around 1000 mb) and not all do. So I'm wondering if the strong radar signature we were looking at was just as much the mesolow in the boundary layer as the broader MCV that stretched up into mid levels as well?

Even going back looking at radar, the MCV like system was east of this cell...see the 19z image from OKX on the 10th. This cell developed to the west of this feature. The cell developed to the west of it near HVN and then went to town.

Well a spotter estimated 100 mph. The BOX surveyor went to his house, and came up with

85-100. So much for ragging on the spotter or the report.

As for the TOR warning, Look at the damn radar!!! If you don't see tornado potential in that

radar signature, then you need to learn about velocity. OKX put out TOR warnings for the

south coast of LI and Suffolk cty before the MCV hit Conn. There was GTG numbers off

the charts. If you ask anyone under that thing in CT if they feel the TOR was a "cry wolf", they

will certainly tell you NO!! The voices of the people reporting it say it all. I may or may not agree with

many of the things that BOX does, but issuing a TOR with a storm like that is a no brainer.
