bobbutts
Yeah but they never issued a statement or anything with that figure. So how did the skywarn spotter's report get picked up by random media peeps? If it was in a LSR or something else than I understand but at least yesterday the NWS did not say anything about a 100 mph spotter report.

CT Rain
I'm just busting on ya. My dad is obsessed with weather and HAM and he said a spotter recorded 100mph at his home station at 430. The tree tops were sheared off. That was provided to box directly, I believe. I assume people had radios and overheard the report and it spread like wildfire. I think my dads on here lol. yeah I'm sure that's what happened... radio people heard it over radio and it spread through Twitter. I was amazed the number of mets that ran with it though. radarman
MPM might be in line for some fun here shortly. Just north of Rt 2 through Charlemont and Heath has been hit pretty good from that SVR cell. Best of the day I believe.

CoastalWx
Yeah mixing of stronger winds aloft and PGF helped to get those winds on the west side. Cool stuff.
CT Rain
Yeah mixing of stronger winds aloft and PGF helped to get those winds on the west side. Cool stuff. east side I think you mean. Yeah tight PGF plus isallobaric component as the mesolow strengthened over CT helped things go to town. Not sure what storm scale process lead to that microburst... almost looked like a RFD on the backside of that mesocyclone???

CoastalWx
east side I think you mean. Yeah tight PGF plus isallobaric component as the mesolow strengthened over CT helped things go to town. Not sure what storm scale process lead to that microburst... almost looked like a RFD on the backside of that mesocyclone??? I meant the west side of the MCV referring to Glastonbury....that's where it was located, correct? I was referring to this...that;s what I was kind of thinking. Nice blog post. "Strong isallobaric component of the wind likely provided an assist to the already strong winds. " I know PGF and isallobaric aren't the exact same, but basically the rush of air to fill the mass void as it past just off to the east of G-bury. Sort of like the same process from 12/9/05. You got the fall/rise couplet along with mixing some of those winds down from aloft with the +RA.
