Instability isn't really going up from here. What we have is what we get. As storms develop the instability will wane.

yeah it actually looked to weaken after 17z or so...at least from what i saw earlier ( and would match incoming activity)

that's what sucks though...is this environment is not too shabby...very close.

It looks like the line of shwrs/tstms may be slowing over the Hudson instead..at least for now. Seems right with the low developing near ACY.

Radar looks really cool. I think we have the classic arc of precip with the ramp up of the LLJ ahead of the low and the line of heavy shwrs/tstms along the convergence zone in NJ and up through POU.

Just got back form an impromptu chase of the cell that passed to my West. Didn't even get a mile before I was under the 'rotation'. Things were pretty ragged with scud going every which way but loose but there definitely was broad rotation going on. I'll have to see how the video came out. Unprepared and memory card was full after a minute :axe:

The winds increase aloft, but that arc of rain is coming along with it, so instability will hurt.

You guys are all probably right unfortunately. We're 12 degrees off the high, almost into the 60s, and it's hard to believe it improves much. Maybe one more run at something interesting with the storm southwest of BAF but after that we're cooked. Areas further east might have some instability to tap into if the forcing can make it's way over there.

The storm south of Westfield looks healthy.
