CT Rain
Let's see what happens later on when shear ramps up a bit more...hopefully we can tack on more instability Instability isn't really going up from here. What we have is what we get. As storms develop the instability will wane.
Tropopause_Fold
maybe HFD to KTOL is the place to be. bit more surface heating up that way...so when those S CT cells move NNE..maybe they spin up right over Kevin's modem.

As storms develop the instability will wane. yeah it actually looked to weaken after 17z or so...at least from what i saw earlier ( and would match incoming activity) that's what sucks though...is this environment is not too shabby...very close. Tropopause_Fold
That amount of helicity coming from all of Kevin's spin might help. that's true...microscale environmental factor to be considered. additional low level turning coming off the top of the glacier. also have to watch the i-95 corridor just west of BDR....there's a localized maximum there as well. Damage In Tolland
That cell south of me looks interesting. Had a quick 20 second huge drop shower . Sun is now out

CoastalWx
It looks like the line of shwrs/tstms may be slowing over the Hudson instead..at least for now. Seems right with the low developing near ACY. Radar looks really cool. I think we have the classic arc of precip with the ramp up of the LLJ ahead of the low and the line of heavy shwrs/tstms along the convergence zone in NJ and up through POU. moneypitmike
Rain here, heavy at times. Lots of rumbles of thunder, but none of it seems concentrated in one area. None too close but the rumbles are west/south/north and east. Only .16" so far in spite of what seems good echos and periodically heavy rains. It's pretty funny to see how much trouble the GFS is having handling this set-up: http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/NCOMAGWEB/appcontroller?prevPage=Param&MainPage=indexℑ=&page=Param&cycle=08%2F10%2F2012+12UTC&rname=PRECIP+PARMS&pname=precip_p12&pdesc=&model=GFS&area=NAMER&cat=MODEL+GUIDANCE&fcast=018&areaDesc=North+America+-+US+Canada+and+northern+Mexico&prevArea=NAMER&currKey=model&returnToModel=&imageSize=M
Collinsville
Just got back form an impromptu chase of the cell that passed to my West. Didn't even get a mile before I was under the 'rotation'. Things were pretty ragged with scud going every which way but loose but there definitely was broad rotation going on. I'll have to see how the video came out. Unprepared and memory card was full after a minute

radarman
The winds increase aloft, but that arc of rain is coming along with it, so instability will hurt. Instability isn't really going up from here. What we have is what we get. As storms develop the instability will wane. yeah it actually looked to weaken after 17z or so...at least from what i saw earlier ( and would match incoming activity) that's what sucks though...is this environment is not too shabby...very close. You guys are all probably right unfortunately. We're 12 degrees off the high, almost into the 60s, and it's hard to believe it improves much. Maybe one more run at something interesting with the storm southwest of BAF but after that we're cooked. Areas further east might have some instability to tap into if the forcing can make it's way over there.
