DomNH
thats 2 storms in a row that the euro has taken everyone to the woodshed NCEP should just scrap the GFS all together and spend their time trying to build something that can compete. nzucker
The Euro is a pretty freaking good computer model. It's amazing...it's not even worth getting excited about a storm if the ECM doesn't have it and all other models do. You can ride the ECM against all the other models, including GFS/GGEM/UKMET/NAM, and still feel confident in riding one well-designed model against 4-5 bad models. skierinvermont
UKIE is much sharper than the GFS at 72 hours. They have flip flopped. Don't know if the UKIE is enough for a hit though. It could be.

pojrzsho
which begs the question, what would happen if the euro didnt exist? A whole lot of hurtin. NorEastermass128
If this is a miss...pretty sad to be going into the Christmas week with 0.0" (Trace) for seasonal snowfall to date. Ugh...one day it will snow in SNE again.

Can't run an overlay of the NAM but by visual comparison the UKIE is about half way between the GFS and NAM.. might be enough for the cape..
