Not to beat a dead horse, but I couldnt resist: axesmiley.png

Apparently, the folks at the NWS dont review that panel .

For Brewster Mass on the cape:

Sunday: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy and windy, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday Night: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy and windy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Again, the NWS just essentially rides climo with respect to day 5 zone forecasts.....take a moment to educate yourself and garner some experience.

I said that with this managerial accounting class I'm in right now. Hasn't changed. Friday will be the final dagger in my heartwith that one

trying to change my major though. I'd basically have to restart college three years in, but I can't stand what I'm doing. I hate business, I hate my classes, teachers, and I hate to say it but I hate the fact that I can rarely understand what others are saying around me because they're from Asia. Thinking about changing my major to geosciences, something I like...and maybe teaching. so yeah...I guess you're right, there is always hope.

What? I'm sitting in my apartment

Doubt there is anybody here that wants snow more than me. However, after watching the weather for years I find it's best to just roll with the punches. I try to hold back judgement one way or the other until late in the game. The key is to quickly move the focus to the next threat on the horizon once the most immediate threat is completely out of the question. There is still plenty of uncertainty about this event that is still 4 days away. A few small changes could reap big rewards. If it's OTS I'm sure the next threat will come into view quickly.

I would equally doubt that there's anybody here that wants snow less than you, either. :)

I'm letting this one roll. It's gonna do what it's gonna do. I think some folks will have some decent snow, and I suspect God's country will do better than bone-dry. But, if not, ice skating ftw.

Uhm, I was a member at Eastern, with thousands of posts under another name.. Dont mistake my few posts under my current ct name as being indicative of my experience. Ive been a snow hound for longer than youve been alive, Im sure, but thats beside the point. How bout deciphering 'rides climo' ? Does that mean computer generated off latest stats rather than using any 'common sense'.. If so, point taken.

BTW, did you read the AFD for this evening? Im SURE forcaster on duty consults his 'common sense panel'.. He came up with this:

"....Chance snow inland with likely chances snow and rain along portions of the coast...."

ah I meant this semester. Sorry for the confusion. One last OT post before I seclude myself for some time. Do you possibly want to meet up and ski sometime over my break maybe with a bunch of other guys from American if we can get it together? Maybe K-town or even stowe? I'd be willing to drive, I think it'd be great..

I was careful to point that out as I think just about everyone here is afflicted by the same disease. We had mood snow all day and despite the biting wind and frigid temps I couldn't have been more happy to be working outside just because th flakes were flying. But this is banter and I'll desist here in this dedicated thread.

They allot about 5% of their time and energy to 5-6 day forecast temps....it's derived in large part from climo.....IOW the most likely scenario based upon climo.

I don't care how old you are or how many posts you have, accepting when you're wrong is a great means by which to derive a sense of personal enrichment and is an invaluable facilitator of growth.

This all stems back to you dismissing the cape as rain because you were bitter that latest guidance favors them, and renders you P cloudy, amid scattered strap-ons.....you were called on it, and are now on a crusade to justify that incorrect, preconcieved notion that was probably born of bitterness.

The cape is surely all snow on all guidance right now....sorry.

That said, you are not out of the game.

Might be time for a SNE ski/apres ski GTG thread?

Yes, that would be cool but not sure how many would be intrepid enough. Scott (powderfreak) would probably be in. Maybe some others but getting people to drive to Northampton for a gtg was tough enough.

How bout this.. I posted this above but I include here in my response to you so youre sure to see it.. Check this evening's AFD , and catch the forecaster's comment relative to the coast. Im SURE he consults his 'common sense panel', even if its a different one than the one you consult:

"....Chance snow inland with likely chances snow and rain along portions of the coast...."
