mattb65
If that verified, it would easily be one of the worst best storms ever for me.
40/70 Benchmark
I remember being nice to a boy from the HVN area jumping for joy 12/30/00 while I was hearing heavy rain pelt on my skylight.... Though not likely, I still believe an evoloution like that is still plausible and would not be shocked if the consencus leaned that way quite abruptly tmw. I only got 9" in that one Will can agree to this since 2/2006 the CT River valley has been screwed relative to normal worse than anyone in SNE. CT Rain
I'd suggest heading to the hills NW or NE of you when you buy a house 43" per year is fine with me. I don't need to live in the middle of nowhere to average 55 or 60. To be honest I really want to move down back toward the shoreline eventually. Old Saybrook area maybe? Yes. But lets face it, since January of 09 we've been screwed. At least you pulled some decent snow in Dec 09 right? I did too but not about 1/3 as much as areas getting jackpotted. It's been frustrating and I want it to end.

neweathereye
Seems like the GFS is the winner here...Living just south of Boston in Hull Mass...I can't wait when this gets cranking....maybe some thunder snow?? Nice!
Dsnowx53
Funny thing is, the northern stream still evolves very differently on this run versus the 12z run...
ORH_wxman
Man that southern stream gets put into a meat grinder...it looks very Euro-esque by 72 hours....another thing I noted...that rockies s/w seems to be coming in later than the 12z run...I'll have to check and see if the Euro was doing that too. If that comes in later, it would also favor an eastern solution.
nzucker
I agree.. I don't think this is related to SW bias.. it's data assimilation. 4DVAR should win. There is still room/time for the euro to trend though.. but it's becoming less and less likely especially away from the immediate coast ECM is going to win. Looks like the GFS crap initialization just picked up on the fact that there is actually no southern shortwave...OOPS!

CA s/w trending faster = more distance between the two

ORH_wxman
GFS may make a late hook and still hit NE...the rockies s/w is also more potent than the Euro, so it does more damage backing the height field at the last second to try and save it.
