Zeus
12z model thread on wx side That looks more like wondering if there is bias, not actually being "on board" with anything.
OSUmetstud
I'm surprised there is no winter storm recon scheduled for the Pacific. What's the deal with that?
Damage In Tolland
Of what use is the RUC at this point? Just for banging purposes
OKpowdah
Of what use is the RUC at this point? Significant differences between the Euro and GFS appear before 24 hours, so the near term models can be of some use I suppose
OKpowdah
I'm surprised there is no winter storm recon scheduled for the Pacific. What's the deal with that? Maybe there needs to be more agreement on there being a formidable threat. But I do agree, would be nice to have that data

DomNH
I think most of us will feel a lot better if the Euro ensembles are west. It'd almost be hard for them not to be considering how far east the OP was.
free_man
I'm surprised there is no winter storm recon scheduled for the Pacific. What's the deal with that? it seems to me because there is not a great enough population size affected. Only portions of NE. Just a guess or at least partial contributor. MaineJayhawk
Euro throws back .75" qpf just to my northeast and .50" from me almost down to you may have some mixing issues though............ I'm surprised it shows that much QPF here. If Euro shows this same solution at 0z (with same genesis) then I'm prepared to cinch the lock and turn the tumblers. DomNH
Your pessimism on this is nauseating..Better hope it doesn't snow is all I can say Sam usually isn't a deborah either. The SREFs will lead us to the promised land.
skierinvermont
18z NAM still has a good s/w off CA .. it doesn't do the weird thing it did at 12z where the 546 line up in Idaho gets drawn SW really sharp. Looks more like the 12z GFS than the 12z NAM did.. it's just a little slower with the CA s/w
OKpowdah
Your pessimism on this is nauseating..Better hope it doesn't snow is all I can say I'm not being pessimistic. I do think that SE MA gets a decent snowstorm. But realistically, there is not much support for anything at all over interior New England. And obviously I'll be very happy to be proven wrong! mattb65
they are late today Clearly this must be because of their bad initialization data
skierinvermont
theyd normally be out to about d5-6 by now They must be having the same data assimilation problems the OP is having.. I wouldn't even bother looking at them

phishn
Speaking of Euro and its ensembles, which provider is best to get this data? WSI? How much per year, and can you get the GRIB data?
skierinvermont
are you saying throw out the op too? sarcasm although I do find it hard to believe the southwest will be THAT flat .. every other model has something going on the southwest.. 18z NAM included, and we are talking about a 12-18 hour lead here. alex
Clearly this must be because of their bad initialization data Maybe they just show so much snow that it's taking a long time to calculate?
dryslot
there's not a usual time? The ops Euro was late which makes the ensembles late would be my guess.......
