Damage In Tolland
The oft-reliable 84 hr NAM on board. Biggest 12z runs of Blizz 24's life today
CoastalWx
BTW, the 06z gfs is more impressive than what the qpf shows. Eastern mass gets into a good comma head.
NEK_VT_Upslope_Event
Is this a mid-afternoon Sun to mid-afternoon Mon event? I'm trying to get a good hold on timing--also, isn't the game at Gilette a sunday night game. Could get very interesting!
MarkO
It looks like the NAM is a bit slower and more amplified. I'm wagering the 12 hr GFS slides west about 25 miles.

Ginx snewx
Moved this over here, I brought up the example of Feb 16 th 1996 , seems very similar to me, a very weak 1012 HP was in Quebec sandwiched in bewteen the PV and a splitting retreating 5 H confluence, very cold regime prior to arrival. Looking back it does appear the baroclinic zone was indeed closer to the coast as the LP rounded the base of the trough. Negative similarity would be the PNA but that seems offset by the depth of the upcoming trough. Allso the AO was strongly positive at the time, but this is going to be close to a major for us. Logan11
I hope it snows like hell during that game.... That snow bowl back in the early 2000's was cool. These names for the stadiums today are really onerous though and totally tasteless examples of pure greed. Imagine naming a stadium after a razor. Is this a mid-afternoon Sun to mid-afternoon Mon event? I'm trying to get a good hold on timing--also, isn't the game at Gilette a sunday night game. Could get very interesting! MarkO
Well we know the Pat's play well in the snow and cold. Brady could set all-time record for completions w/o int

Baroclinic Zone
Energy coming into the SW is stronger at 24h on the 12z GFS than the 06z GFS 30h.

Ginx snewx
Here is an AO analogy for you, read Don s thread on AO look at the dates when the AO dropped to -4 in Dec 12/20/
OKpowdah
so far we have more energy in the midwest, suppressing heights. Not a good start with respect to that factor.

OSUmetstud
ots? I don't think so... It's better than 06z...higher heights over New England at 66 hours...more digging in Mississippi Valley and the PV is shifting west along with -NAO block allowing for a more favorable position to partially phase. centralmass
Is it not kosher to post accuweather video forecasts? I know for an arm-chair snowstorm tracker like myself they are pretty helpful in teaching/pointing out some of the stuff that goes over my head while just reading post after post in these threads. Anyways, here is Abrams' that he posted an hour ago.
Boston-winter08
ots? Looks to me as if there's still a chance with the disturbance over Northern Maine being pushed 100 miles west each run
