8/31 - 9/2 some late summer heat still on the table. Looks like sat/sun could be the hottest days. Isaac remnants remain the caveat as to where and how far north they track. Before the Labor day weekend heat, temps should hover near normal with wed/thu cooler. Clouds will limit any stroner warmth today.

8/24 dailies;

TEB: 91/66 (+5)

NYC: 87/69 (+4)

EWR: 88/69 (+4)

LGA: 87/73 (+5)

JFK: 85/68 (+3)

ISP: 86/65 (+4)

NBNSWK: 88/61 (+2)

TTN: 88/65 (+4)

The SST's are really cranking out there with the bouy near the old Ambrose Tower registering a balmy 80 degree ocean temp.

http://www.ndbc.noaa...p?station=44065

Air Temperature (ATMP): 76.5 °F Water Temperature (WTMP): 80.4 °F

I have been paying very close attention to the buoys (mostly 44025) for many years and I cannot remember a 80 plus reading for water temp. Granted its surface water and the winds and thus mixing have been minimal as of late its still cool to see. The sea breeze has been very warm as a result of the water temps!

Looks like the mini 2 day heat wave is back on the GFS Friday /Saturday

If we dont have affects from Isaac, Sunday should be hot as well. In the extreme we could be talking some impressive hest for late august - it has been mainly dry as well...
