50 kts of effective shear over NYC now. And 3000 joules of surface based cape over New Jersey ahead of the MCS.

Radar looks like a classic LEWP.

NYC on east is gonna wacked with some wicked winds and maybe even some hail in like an hour or two. this line is just getting stronger by the minute earthlight! WOW!

not gonna lie, im a little scared

As i have said repeatedly, i am going to stay in my sturdy office building until it passes...my second floor walkup with only windows is not where i want to be when that line hits.

I would expect this segment to go to town in the next half hour. It's now running into 45 kts of effective shear and surface based instability out ahead of it is over 3000 j/kg. Insane...

For Long Island im concerned that the shear might be too much, because we have less sbcape compared to NJ. The storms updraft might lean towards the cold pool and weaken when they get to the island. Not being a downer, but ive seen it happen before.

even if the storms weaken, there will still be wind.
