Lee Goldberg future cast shows it just hitting north of the area & missing us, I don't get it

Never use a model to predict an individual thunderstorms location, even the predicted path on NEXRAD's are useless, in my opinion, because the radar can't predict if the thunderstorm weakens, or changes directions.

The acceleration is really incredible..just soaring through Central PA now. 40+kts of effective shear in place and 3000 joules of surface based Cape over New Jersey. Not sure what else there is to say at this point, this looks like a legitimately widespread/severe damaging wind event for much of the area.

Crazy how fast it's accelerating. At the least, the line will produce strong winds; Even if areas miss the severe cells.

Yeah its pretty incredible watching that accelerate. Looks like it might make it here by the end of rush hour tonight.

Amazing...its completely clear here..not a single cloud in the sky. Can't remember a warm sector this clean with a huge MCS approaching from PA in a long time.

John, wouldnt we need to see severe winds from central PA to the coast for this to be a true Derecho? Any idea if the winds are at severe strength along that line?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Usually by this time of the day, with a SSW wind, we'll at least have some cumulus/altocumulus formation, but it's clear as a bell. Almost eerie.
