Tropopause_Fold
That thing put down 25 quick CG strikes east of Norwich in the last 15 mins. Core has collapsed a bit though. that's probably a pretty nice looking cell if you're in SW RI right now.

Damage In Tolland
Ginx those rates remind me of a s. florida like downpour The next 10 plus days will be just like Florida with 70+ dews everyday and scattered storms each afternoon. Only thing missing will be 92 degree highs .
Damage In Tolland
Looks like it's doing the vanishing act. Of course it is. Just doesn't want to rain here. Ever since that microburst we had in late June everything has missed

Amped
Not enough Downdraft Cape is the part I'm keying on at least for the Derecho. The Microburst/Derecho stregnth is a function of that and mid level windspeeds. Also the H7 ridge was too far southeast and the fastest were too the east. That being said 40mph winds were pretty widespread, Across PA ,NJ,NY SCT. SO a large area of just subsevere, I guess constitutes a near miss. Quincy
Surprised this thread is quiet. Strong to locally severe thunderstorms are moving into western CT. These storms have a history of producing damaging winds and nickel-sized hail in Orange County, NY.
#NoPoles
yea, it's very quiet...looks like a supercell type storm fired ahead of the lined and moved through the monson area...those poor people probably cringe now everytime a storms comes through

TalcottWx
Not much breathing space to the east. Stable marine air will choke storms as they move. The two air masses are fueling this event with plentiful lift. Those on the cooler side get rumbles if lucky. No complaints. You guys are spoiled with the beautiful sea breeze.
