Cloudsncontrails
On 84 between Waterbury and Southbury lightning/thunder is unbelievable. No hail or wind intense lightning. I was in ALB during the labor day and this rivals that.

wxmanmitch
Wow...looks like CT dodged a bullet too. This looked pretty impressive on radar from afar, but I guess it really wasn't all that exciting. Today's severe weather event was an epic fail. Appreciate all of the obs...keep it up.
Ginx snewx
Watch tomorrow overperform, well so much for a Tor outbreak, that lack of CAPE was like hitting a brick wall. Great thread though.
wxsniss
lotta disappointment in Philly to CT right now lol... I noticed CIN seemed to increase significantly in the past 2 hours, well east of the line... this is a current mesoanalysis but you get the idea, CIN was decreasing over CT / SNE most of the afternoon until around 5pm and then started increasing... Outflow from the line?

ct_yankee
Very dramatic watching the shelf cloud roll over downtown New Haven... I've always thought a big city makes for the best background during this kind of event. Got some decent gusts, but nothing, I think, of true Derecho quality. Still, very impressive to look at as it came over the skyline. Some crazy motion up there, lots of lightning...
