Axis of the upper-level trough pushing through WI, rain should shut off once it gets past us (which may take awhile yet). Generous soaking right now though, more than you'd think by looking at radar.

Low-levels cooled last night, 9-10 °C at 850 hPa, so the high temp should be in the mid-upper 70s.

This system was a disappointment for areas north of I80 from CR to Chicago. Models had it raining all night with widespread half to one inch, but it was pretty much done before I went to bed. It looks like I may have received a few tenths. Over an inch did fall in spots 2-3 counties south.

Yeah it was a huge disappointment. Only managed 0.36" here. Expected steady moderate rains all night into the early morning, but ended up with intermittent bursts of light rain and sprinkles. That's what I get for telling a bunch of people this will be the first widespread soaking rain in a long time lol. :axe:

Was driving this morning and saw a waterspout. Luckily I had my camera in my car and was able to snap these. By the time I got to the lakeshore a few minutes later it had dissipated, but there must have been 10-15 people with cameras lined up along the beach cliff taking pictures.

Nice pics. That top pic with the water spout is pretty cool how it incorporates the snow emergency sign in the foreground.

Can't beat this weather with a stick. So nice and pleasant.

Looks like the heat makes a brief resurgence later this week although muted compared to what we have seen. Thursday has cloud/precip questions but could envision a run toward 90 if it's not a problem.

Ragweed is terrible today... Rain in the area so hopefully it washes some of it out.

Rain doesn't even seem to help. We had an inch of rain on Thursday and I was still feeling the effects of ragweed the next couple days. You would think this overall cool, cloudy and damp weather would be the best for it, but we probably will have to muddle through it for the next couple months. Nosebleeds have also been surprisingly common this summer for me, frequently as a byproduct of allergies, and the drier heat hasn't helped.

If you guys grew up in the tropics like I did you'd be immune to allergies. There's so much crazy stuff in the air down there compared to here, and it's every month of the year, not much of a break during winter.

I know that, I remember when my family took a vacation to Georgia and South Carolina during April of 2004, the allergies were relentless, and normally spring allergies are not a big deal for me. It's sad to see that Milwaukee and Grand Rapids were listed as the two best cities for low pollen counts, yet it still can be miserable in these places. Would be nice to live up north where the allergy season is around a month long.
