BowMeHunter
lake mi getting a nice watering.. painful watching and wondering if it ever makes it here. clouds have at least replaced the once star filled sky. wind and cool rain should at least temporarily cool the lake a few degrees? michsnowfreak
I am absolutely LOVING the weather, the overcast skies and temps in the 60s all day felt awesome. The afternoon high was only 67, which is just 2F shy of the record cold max for the day, but the high was set at midnight of 74, merely making this a below normal day for the books. Geos
Looks like rain/storms are building closer to the western shore of Lake Michigan. Racine getting hit by a pretty good cell right now. RPM model showed rain straight through the lunch hour tomorrow for NE IL. Down to 62° currently. Edit 11pm: Thunder increasing from cells approaching from the NNE. Chicago Storm
Excellent photos Joe! Didn't get to see anything like that here. Almost looks like the sky is on fire! Wow at the sunset photos Joe. Awesome catch. Thanks. Everything came together at the perfect time. You obviously can't tell in the picture, but the ragged clouds in the lower right were actually moving in off the lake...so that just made it even more interesting. cyclone77
The last few days had been looking like a pretty wet period for us, but we only picked up a few hundredths here. Same for MLI. If we wouldn't have picked up that 2"+ rain last week this would have been extremely disappointing here. Unfortunately for many areas just southwest (like MLI) they didn't get much from that storm last week and this rain event was a complete fail yet again for them. Hopefully the weekend rain chances can produce.
wisconsinwx
Just had a nice cell intensify right over me, and another one over Bowme. We both have probably tacked on a half inch, to make up for the lack of heavier rain earlier today.

wisconsinwx
GFS still brings in a nice trough in the medium range. In fact, I'm not sure it gets above 80 in the next 7 days here taken verbatim. Of course, I'm not counting on that to hold, but the heat may be kept at bay next week for the Great Lakes once again.
Hoosier
NAM has gone back to struggling to get to 70 here tomorrow. Looks kinda close on the Euro too from what I can tell. Gonna need sustained overcast and probably some precip to have any shot.

Looks like Saginaw will break their all time rainiest day record. The old record was 5.51" set on September 10, 1986. So far the daily total is 5.21" so that record should fall within the hour. Storm total is currently 6.36"
Chicago WX
44th wettest August on record (out of 142 years of record keeping) for Indianapolis right now. Quite a turnaround after the dryness of May, June, and July at IND.
