EastCoast NPZ Posted August 1, 2012 Share Posted August 1, 2012 Still drizzling after that storm has now moved off to our ENE, though can still see the sky lighting up in that direction. Picked up another .75" from this storm. Total for the day sitting at about 2.95". Nice and cool out now. So much water in the ground that you can hear the water running outside as the yards drain into the curb gutters. The ground is like walking on a sponge. EastCoast NPZ Posted August 1, 2012 Share Posted August 1, 2012 I don't record obs anymore, but I do remember getting 1.7" from a storm on the 19th, 2.95" from yesterday's storms. That's 4.65" just from those 2 days alone. We've had many more storms this month, albeit none approaching these rain totals. I'd have to guess that we've gotten at least 5.5" for the month. I somewhat remember from last summer receiving less than 2" between mid-June and early/mid August. 2010 was much the same. This year has been completely different, thankfully.
