WxUSAF
Was definitely a bit muggy, but I thought yesterday was pretty pleasant all things considered.
ThePhotoGuy
I had a big time thunder rumble and then the rain started, along with some decent wind considering the size and scope of that storm No thunder or wind just a lot of rain in a short amount of time. ACFD FIREMAN
Thunder and a tropical downpour in Arlington. Sounds like a cow pissing on a flat rock out there.
wxmeddler
Decent cape, absolutely no meaningful shear what so ever below 700mb. End Result: Thundershower pulsers with OFB's that spawn more pulsers.
H2O
nice dump of rain in Springfield on my way home around the beltway. Raining just a bit at home.

mitchnick
DC anti split with the generally moister/warmish wx vs. drier/hoter we've had of late, I think the effects of Nino are finally starting to show up in our sensible wx
Hank Scorpio
Good bit of thunder with that cell over the Herndon/Sterling area. Oh, and lots and lots of heavy rain
mattie g
This entire summer feels like payback for TS Lee. Too true. Just over 0.9" in the month of July, and a little over 1.5" in June.
EastCoast NPZ
Great t-storm this afternoon. Best I've seen in a long, long time - rainwise. Picked up almost 2.2 inches probably in just over a half-hour. Temps crashed from 86 to 68F. The great t-storm summer continues out here. It's been quite a while since I've seen everything so green at this point in the summer. Grass looks great, although I'll have to mow again this week. I went 6 weeks w/o mowing during one stretch last summer. This summer the most I've been able to go is 2 weeks, and right now it's weekly, just like during spring. TradeWinds
Too true. Just over 0.9" in the month of July, and a little over 1.5" in June. wow, that is dry. Even in MD's desert of Frederick, I measured 4.15" in June and 3.37" in July. I guess we're making up for the hideous screw job we got in 2011. mattie g
wow, that is dry. Even in MD's desert of Frederick, I measured 4.15" in June and 3.37" in July. I guess we're making up for the hideous screw job we got in 2011. Yeah, it's been pretty tough. We just seem to have been in the little nooks and elbows and empty spots whenever there have been storms around, and by the time the edges of the storms get to us, they either reform elsewhere or fizzle out. Same exact thing happened earlier today. We'll see if we can pull something off a little later.
EastCoast NPZ
nasty looking / sounding storm moving in. no warnings, though it seems. lots of lighting. gusts to probably 35 mph, but not much rain to this point.

EastCoast NPZ
pouring rain for 15+ minutes with this storm, eventhough radar shows the bulk of the cell skirting us to the south. those in the heart of this thing got to be getting pounded with rain. postive strokes are almost constant. what a show. so much lightning I'm not even going to go outside yet to check the rain gauge. Mrs.J
Another decent cell moving in up here. So far fantastic light show. It may just stay to my south.
wxmeddler
Depending on whether I get any rain before midnight.. I'll have 2.77" for the month of July. Normal for BWI is 4.07.
