usedtobe
Really hard to get 100 around here with 850 temps <20°C, I think. 11am DCA: 91 IAD: 88 BWI: 86 I hadn't looked at the 850 temps. Your right, they need to be above 20 plus we need sun which has been peaking in and out.

Bob Chill
Cells popping in front of the larger complex south of CHO got warned with the quickness. Like everyone else, I would just like some rain. I got skipped yesterday and I thought for sure that I would at least pick up a couple tenths. Maybe the area of showers just to the sw can expand into dc metro and drop .25. Stormpc
Dale City may get a few spits of rain. I'm on the north end of this shower and it's raining pretty good. Been watching this same cloud cluster grow larger and darker to my sw over the last 60 minutes, finally producing. No thunder/lightning.

Happens every year. Unless we get the great equalizer......a big fat juicy tropical system....

Disc
Pretty nice shelf cloud. I had some video of the storms in their earlier stages and it doesn't look quite as impressive as this photo. This was taken in Pittsylvania County, Virginia not too far away from here. EDIT: Forgot to mention this in the original post, but this was from someone I know on Facebook. Very cool nonetheless. CranberryWX
I just got in the eastern edge of the STW. A flash flood watch goes along with it. A batch of warned storms are moving quickly east...should be into western WV in about an hour. Edit: The storms crapped out at the last minute. It looked like a boat load of rain was coming, but got just a few drops late last night.
