Yeah....probably a lot of 80/65 type days for us.

That's what I was thinking...though that would be a pretty above normal. Ave high is 80F so we'll be around normal there but lows in the 60s will bring departures up since normal is 55F and starts to lower as we go through August.

But we are done with the 91/51 or 85/43 with 40F+ diurnal ranges.

I haven't looked at much because this time of the year just bores me silly.

But this doesn't look very swamp azz to me ...on my local NWS forecast. It looks pretty blah and comfortable overall.

Blizz says he's headed to ocean city nj for a week... Dude, you really should check out wildwood. By far the best beach in nj.

I always liked long beach island, especially the quiet parts, a good beach to me is to take a long walk and only see a handful of humans, and no towering condos or highrises.

Looks like a pretty large error in the BOS CLI for today...they list BOS high as 79F at 11:47am, but the temp at 11am was 68F, and then it was 68F again at 12pm. It rose to 73F at 2pm which was the 6 hourly high reported at 18z...then the next 6 hourly high at 00z was also 73F.

So it appears an input of 6F too high for the BOS high today.

Agreed, Rick. I don't see anything extraordinary. But, what do I know.....

Boy--another Flash flood watch in one week! I received .04 during the last one. Pulled off .03" in yesterday's deluges. We'll see what happens today.

My bet is that it will all come tomorrow morning while I'm zipping!

Something is wrong there, but BOS appeared to be a legit 77 at the morning 5z so the error probably is only 1 or 2F. The 79 may even be correct, but it didn't happen just before noon like you mentioned.

I got a PM from Will about this, but didn't take a close look. Now that I have read this, I called the office and the HMT on duty will look into it more closely. She will dial into the ASOS and look at the 5 min readings. You may be correct...the 79 may be correct but the time is off, likely at 05z-06z somewhere in there.

She will send a correction if needed.

Will, thanks for the heads up.

Nice steady rains here since about 11 AM. Had some lightning and thunder for a time earlier. Nice to see the lawn getting some water, but it may be too little too late as there seems to be some kind of mold taking hold of the burned grass. I wonder if this means its dead?

That stinks

LESCO can save it!

Mitch--don't know about the mold. But, ours was looking awful up until a week or so ago when we picked up probably only .10-.15' of rain one night. That had started it greening by the next morning. Not lush, mind you, but I was amazed at how quickly it rebounded on just the lighted amount.

Raining steadily here, too.

It can do anything. Even polish your car. And core a apple.

Yeah, the grass that didn't burn as badly has recovered some from the recent rains, even though it hasn't been a lot of rain. The mold is actually black in color, so the brown grass actually looks darker than it should. I'd imagine the rain may make it worse.

More wildly overkill flash flood warnings. Ugh. We have seen more of these this year than I can ever remember.
