The difference is the sun is still searing now. Even low 70's with that sun and it's warm on a beach. Much weaker sun on Labor Day.

And on that note...

As of midnight, we have only 39 days till Met. Fall.

Cheers Pete! 40's in the Glen Thursday morning probably.

Hey Rick.........you really despise the sun dont you:) Hope you are doing well.

Despising the sun in the summer always makes me scratch my head. I understand the heat argument but the sun is nice to have with long days.

I just prefer winter. If we could have long days in winter and still have cold and snow (yeah, right) I would be ok.

I do like the night, though

Oh yeah winter is great, but some of these comments make me think these people are chained to a dark dungeon.

I don't dislike sunny days, but the sun angle and strength is still very very hot. I don't like sweating..it's simple.

Plus I have only one shade tree so I feel it more than someone who is in a shaded neighborhood.

So in summary: long sunny day with September 21st sun...great. Long sunny day with July 22nd sun...just too searing for me.

Man have you been getting hosed, .81 HFD . 25 IJD

He's not the only one. Essentially all of NW Ma. has had little to no rain for over a month. Everything has missed S and sometimes N.

Sucks that the part of the state with the most agriculture has had the least rain.

Box forecast went from 60% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon to mostly sunny.

I have several friend who own small farms/CSA's and they are ok for now but have not been able to plant any of their fall crops which will really screw them come Sept/Oct.

Didn't even wet the dirt under the trees

Can someone post a map that shows precip received in the last 2 months? My area has been pretty dry and drought conditions at the foot of the Tollland mountain range! Just curious as to where we stand So far this summer
