RCNYILWX
ORD approaching 6" on the season. Gonna need a quick shutoff to winter to not surpass the big boy. Agreed, and if the latest CFS look for March of normal to slightly above normal temps and well above normal precip ends up close, you'd think there would be a snow event or 2 in that sort of scenario. RCNYILWX
Here's something else to watch. The last time there were consecutive sub 20" seasons in Chicago was 1920-21 and 1921-22. One thing we wrote in the winter outlook was that even if this winter ended up on the warmer side of average and less snow than normal, the probabilities and overall (teleconnections etc) pattern leading up to the winter favored it being colder and snowier than last winter. It's looking better for it not being warmer than last winter but if we end up sub 20" again, I'm going to announce my retirement from doing winter outlooks . So there better be a couple big events coming later this month and in March.
