Chicago Storm
It's WAY too early to talk about such things....but since you seem to have all the Chicago data, another interesting stat might be the least amount of days of 1"+ snow depth for an entire winter, since ORD is amazingly still at 0. Last winter was the most recent to crack the top 10. Least Days With 1.0"+ Snowcover: 1. 8 - 1948/49 1. 8 - 1936/37 1. 8 - 1931/32 4. 10 - 1905/06 5. 12 - 1889/90 6. 13 - 2011/12 6. 13 - 1930/31 6. 13 - 1921/22 6. 13 - 1890/91 10. 14 - 1982/83 10. 14 - 1952/53 10. 14 - 1943/

Seeing several disastrous snow seasons at Chicago match Detroit, I have to lol at how terrible some of the winters were in the days when old-times claimed snow covered the ground the entire winter. I do not have access to Detroits snowcover records pre-1900, but I think 1889-90 and 1881-82 would take first place for barest. Since 1900...the top 3 go to 1936-37 (10), 1931-32 (11), and 1918-19 (12), all seeing much less than 2 weeks snowcover TOTAL.
